This was a commandment for the Companions that the best of them would be the kindest to the Prophet's family, which includes his wives, children, and relatives, after his death. The Companions accepted his commandment and treated his family with honor and reverence. For instance, ‘Abdur-Rahmān ibn ‘Awf sold a garden of his for four hundred thousand, then divided it between the wives of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him).Categories
