People will desert Madīnah, in spite of its being in its best condition, and it will only be inhabited by wild beasts and birds
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will desert Madīnah, in spite of its being in its best condition, and it will only be inhabited by wild beasts and birds. The last to die will be two shepherds from the Muzaynah tribe. They will enter Madīnah driving their sheep, but will find it full of wild beasts. When they reach Thaniyyat al-Wadā‘, they will fall on their faces.”

The noble Prophet informs us in this Hadīth that, at the end of time, Madīnah (may Allah increase it in honor and nobility) will be deserted by its residents and nothing will remain there, except wild animals and birds. Two shepherds will drive their sheep from Muzaynah to Madīnah and will come to find it desolate and empty. They will be the last to die; when they reach Thaniyyat al-Wadā‘, they will fall dead.Categories
