Allah is pleased with one who eats some food and praises Him for it, or drinks some drink and praises Him for it

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah is pleased with one who eats some food and praises Him for it, or drinks some drink and praises Him for it."

[Authentic hadith] [Narrated by Muslim]

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) points out that praising Allah for His bounty and blessings is one of the ways the servant can win the pleasure of his Lord. He eats food, says "al-hamdulillāh" (praise be to Allah), drinks some drink, and says al-hamdulillāh.

Benefits

The Hadīth shows Allah's bounty, as He provides sustenance to His servants and is pleased with the praise.

The pleasure of Allah can be attained by the simplest means, like praising Him after eating and drinking.

One etiquette of eating and drinking is to praise Allah Almighty after that.
