1- While a man was walking through a barren land, he heard a voice coming out of a cloud

2- ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) divorced his wife while she was menstruating. So, ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) informed the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) about that, and he became furious at him

3- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited the selling and gifting of Walā'

4- "My wife has given birth to a black boy." The Prophet asked him: "Do you have camels?" He replied: 'Yes.' The Prophet asked: "What color are they?" He replied: 'Red.' The Prophet asked: "Is any of them gray?" He replied: 'Yes.' The Prophet asked: "From where did that grayness come?" He said: "It might have inherited it from its ancestors." The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps this son of yours (also) inherited it (this color) from his ancestors."

5- How can you (keep your wife) when she (the slave-woman) has claimed that she suckled both of you?

6- If you are left behind and do good deeds whereby you seek Allah's pleasure, you will be raised a degree and your status will be elevated on account of them. Perhaps you will be left behind so that some people may benefit by you and others may be harmed by you

7- Give the prescribed shares (of inheritance) to those who are entitled to them, and whatever remains goes to the nearest male relative

8- Deeds are presented (to Allah) on Monday and Thursday. So, I like my deeds to be presented while I am fasting

9- Have you not known that Mujazziz has recently looked at Zayd ibn Hārithah and Usāmah ibn Zayd and said: Indeed, these feet are related to one another?

10- Do not go out to meet the riders (in a trade caravan), do not urge buyers to cancel a sale transaction to make a new one with you, do not bid against each other (to fool another bidder), a townsman must not buy on behalf of a Bedouin, and do not tie up the udders of camels and sheep

11- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited the fixed term marriage on the Day of Khaybar and eating the flesh of domestic donkeys

12- On raising his head from bowing in the final Rak‘ah of the Fajr prayer, he would say: O Allah, curse so-and-so and so-and-so, after saying: "Allah hears those who praise Him, our Lord, all praise belongs to You." So, Allah revealed: {Not for you is the decision}

13- No financial maintenance is due to you upon him

14- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) emancipated Safiyyah and made her emancipation her dowry

15- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) made an agreement with the people of Khaybar to work and cultivate in return for half of the fruits or crops produced

16- During the Prophet's lifetime, a man accused his wife of adultery and disclaimed her child. So the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them both to swear the oath of condemnation against each other, as Allah, the Almighty, instructed, and they did. Then he decided that the child should be with the woman and separated them

17- You have no right over her. The man said: O Messenger of Allah, what about my money? The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have no right to get back your money. If you have told the truth about her, then your money was in return for the sexual intercourse you lawfully had with her; and if you have told a lie about her, then you are less rightful to get your money back

18- When a woman’s husband died, she would go into a small hut, wear her worst clothes and would not touch any kind of perfume until a whole year would pass. Then an animal – a donkey, bird, or sheep – would be brought to her and she would rub her skin with it

19- The price of a dog is evil, the earning of a prostitute is evil and the earning of a cupper is evil

20- When I asked Rāfi‘ ibn Khadīj about leasing land in return for gold and silver, he replied: There is no harm in it

21- The Messenger of Allah granted concession for the sale of Al-‘Arāyā (unpicked ripe dates for dry dates) when they are equal to or less than five Wasqs

22- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) granted concession to the owner of Al-‘Ariyyah (a dates palm) to sell its unpicked fruits for dry dates by estimation

23- Hadīth of Subay‘ah al-Aslamiyyah regarding ‘Iddah

24- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the lost and picked up item whether it was of gold or silver, whereupon he said: Remember the description of its container and the string with which it is tied. Make a public announcement of it for one year. If nobody comes and claims it, then utilize the money but keep it as a trust with you. If its owner comes back one day seeking it, then return it to him

25- The prayer of fear in Jābir's report

26- Even if she was not my stepdaughter whom I raised, she would still be unlawful for me because she is my niece through suckling. Thuwaybah breastfed me and Abu Salāmah (her father). So, do not offer me your daughters or sisters

27- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) decreed that the lifelong gift is for the one to whom it was given

28- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) decreed for partners the right of preemption in property which had not been divided up. However, if the boundaries are demarcated, and the roads are fixed, then there will be no right of preemption

29- Do you want to go back to Rifā‘ah? Not until you taste his sweetness and he tastes your sweetness (have sexual intercourse)

30- Walā' is for the one who manumits

31- The child is for the owner of the bed, and the stone is for the one who commits illegal sexual intercourse

32- I went with my father to Abu Barzah al-Aslami, and my father asked him: How did the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) use to perform the obligatory prayers?

33- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of saffron by men

34- There is no orphanhood after reaching puberty, and there is no silence for the whole day till the night

35- Abu Bakr As-Siddīq (may Allah be pleased with him) entered upon a woman from Ahmas tribe, called Zaynab, and he noticed that she was not speaking

36- Returning from battle is like going to battle

37- The faithful and diligent slave will receive a double reward

38- Story of ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah's conversion to Islam and how the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) taught him prayer and ablution

39- One of the sons of Abu Talha was ailing. Abu Talha went out and the boy died in his absence

40- Allah, the Almighty, held back the elephants from Makkah, but He enabled His Messenger and the believers to conquer it. Fighting in it was not permitted for anybody before me, nor will it be permitted for anybody after me; it was permitted for me only for a short while during the day. Verily, it is from this moment a sanctuary

41- By the One in Whose hand my soul is! I will judge between you according to the Book of Allah. The offspring and sheep will be returned, and your son is to be given one hundred lashes and exiled for one year. O Unays, go to that man's wife tomorrow, and if she admits, then stone her

42- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the prayer of fear during some of his battles. One group stood with him, while the other group faced the enemy. He led those with him in one Rak‘ah. This group left, and the other group came. So he led them in the other Rak‘ah. Each performed the Rak‘ah which they missed

43- Her prescribed waiting period after divorce is over. Propose to her anew

44- O Allah, save ʿAyyāsh ibn Abu Rabīʿah. O Allah, save Salamah ibn Hishām. O Allah, save Al-Walīd ibn al-Walīd. O Allah, save the oppressed believers. O Allah, be hard on [the tribe of] Mudar. O Allah, afflict them with years of famine and drought like the years of Yūsuf (Joseph)

45- A man from the Children of Israel asked another to lend him one thousand dinars

46- Some people of the Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) dragging one of their sheep like a donkey (in its size or for its disposal). The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "Would that you took its skin." They said: "It died a natural death." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Water and Qarazh (leaves of the mimosa) purify it."

47- That when the cup of the Prophet cracked, he mended the crack with a silver chain

48- Indeed, Allah has given everyone deserving a right his due right. So, there is no will for an inheritor. The child belongs to the bed, and the adulterer gets the stone. Whoever claims to belong to someone other than his father or (a freed slave) attributes himself to those other than his masters, spurning them, upon him will be the curse of Allah, and no obligatory or supererogatory act of worship will be accepted from him

49- Verily, the two eyes (when awake) are the string that ties up the anus, but when the two eyes sleep, the string is untied

50- ‘Ā'ishah's story with Ibn Az-Zubayr that involved a separation and a vow

51- A man said: Indeed, I will give in charity. So he took his charity out and placed it in a thief's hand. Next morning, people were saying: Charity was given to a thief

52- Do you not fear Allah regarding this animal which Allah has placed in your possession? It is complaining to me that you starve it and put it to toil

53- I was one of seven sons of Muqarrin, and we had only one female servant. The youngest of us slapped her in the face, so the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to set her free

54- Do not weep for my brother after this day

55- An-Nu‘mān ibn Bashīr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: ‘Abdullāh ibn Rawāhah (may Allah be pleased with him) fell down unconscious, so his sister started crying. She said: "O my mountain! O so-and-so!" and went on calling him by his good qualities one by one. When he came to his senses, he said: "Whenever you said something, I was asked: 'Are you really so?'"

56- They should not do so. The Prophet's wives would refrain (from prayer) for forty days during postpartum bleeding, and the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would not command them to complete the prayers abandoned during that period

57- This is something that Allah has ordained for the daughters of Adam. So, do everything the pilgrim does, but do not make Tawāf around the Ka‘bah until you are pure

58- They killed him, may Allah kill them! Why had they not asked when they did not know? The cure for ignorance is inquiry. It would have been enough for him to perform Tayammum and to press – or bind – a cloth over his wound then wipe with wet hands over it and wash the rest of his body

59- You have followed the Sunnah and your (first) prayer was enough for you

60- Clean earth is ablution for the Muslim, even up to ten years. Then when if you find water, wash your skin with it, for that is better

61- O Messenger of Allah, if a man parts from his wife suddenly (during sexual intercourse) without discharging semen, what will he be required to do? The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is water (seminal discharge) that makes water (ritual bath) obligatory

62- Jibrīl came down and led me in prayer, and I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him

63- By the One in Whose hand my soul is, whenever the devil sees you walking on a path, he follows a path other than yours

64- The death of my Ummah is by stabbing and the plague

65- This is the best time to perform it, had it not been difficult for my Ummah

66- Offer the Fajr prayer at dawn, for this earns you greater rewards – or brings greater rewards

67- I saw Bilāl going out to Al-Abtah to make Adhān. When he reached: "Come to prayer! Come to success!" He turned his neck right and left and did not turn around

68- Hadīth of Jābir descriibng the Farewell Hajj

69- The Muezzin is responsible for the Adhān, and the leader of the congregation is responsible for the Iqāmah

70- If it is wide, cross its ends; and if it is tight, pull it around your waist

71- In prayer, nothing of people's ordinary speech is allowed. Only Tasbīh, Takbīr, and recitation of the Qur'an are allowed

72- Bilāl made a call to prayer before the break of dawn. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) therefore commanded him to return and make a call: Lo! The slave of Allah slept. Lo! The slave of Allah slept

73- Wash the perfume off your body thrice, and take off the Jubbah, and do in ‘Umrah as you do in Hajj

74- When anyone of you stands in prayer, indeed mercy is facing him. So, let him not smooth the pebbles

75- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent some cavalry towards Najd. They captured a man from the tribe of Banu Hanīfah called Thumāmah ibn Uthāl, and tied him to one of the pillars of the mosque

76- The prescribed corporal punishments are not to be carried out in mosques; nor should retribution be carried out in them

77- Sa‘d was injured on the Day of the Trench by the arrow of man from Quraysh

78- She used to visit me, and every time she came, she would say the following: The day of the scarf was one of the wonders of our Lord, for He rescued me from the disbelievers' town

79- What made you come, Abu Hidhyam?

80- Yūsuf ibn ‘Abdullāh ibn Salām (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) named me Yūsuf and seated me on his lap

81- ‘Īsa the Son of Maryam saw a person stealing. Thereupon, ‘Īsa said to him: Did you steal? He said: No, by the One besides Whom there is no god. So ‘Īsa said: I believed in Allah and disbelieved my eyes

82- Two groups of my Ummah Allah shall protect from the Fire: a group that invades India and a group that will be with ‘Īsa ibn Maryam (peace be upon both of them)

83- Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) performed one of the afternoon prayers (the sub-narrator Muhammad said: "I think that it was most probably the ‘Asr prayer") and he finished it after offering two Rak‘ahs only. He then stood near a piece of wood in front of the mosque and put his hand on it. Abu Bakr and ‘Umar were amongst those who were present, but they dared not talk to him about it (because of being awed by him), and those who were in a hurry went out. They said: "Has the prayer been reduced?" A man who was called Dhu al-Yadayn by the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said (to the Prophet): "Has the prayer been reduced or have you forgotten?" He said: "Neither have I forgotten, nor has the prayer been reduced." He said: "Certainly you have forgotten." So the Prophet offered two more Rak‘ahs and ended the prayer with Taslīm. Then he said Takbīr and performed a prostration like his ordinary prostration or a bit longer. Then he raised his head and said Takbīr. Then he put his head down and performed a prostration like his ordinary prostration or a bit longer. Then he raised his head and said Takbīr.' [Al-Bukhāri]

84- If there was any change to the prayer, I would surely inform you; but I am a human being like you and liable to forget like you. So if I do forget, remind me, and if anyone of you is doubtful about his prayer, he should follow what he thinks to be correct and complete his prayer accordingly, make Taslīm, and then offer two prostrations

85- For each forgetfulness (in prayer) there are two prostrations after making Taslīm

86- The prostration of Sūrah Sād is not a compulsory one but I saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prostrating while reciting it

87- ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allah be pleased with him) recited Sūrat An-Nahl on the pulpit during the Friday sermon, and when he reached the verse of prostration, he got down and prostrated, and so did the people

88- Jibrīl (peace be upon him) came to me and gave me glad tidings saying: “Allah, the Almighty, says: ’Whoever sends blessings on you, I will send blessings on him, and whoever sends greetings of peace to you, I will send greetings of peace to him.'" So I prostrated in thankfulness to Allah

89- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent Khālid ibn al-Walīd to the people of Yemen to invite them to Islam, but they did not respond to him. Then, the Prophet sent ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib

90- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two light Rak‘ahs before the Fajr prayer, after the Muezzin would finish calling the Adhān and after the break of dawn. Then, he used to lie on his right side until the Muezzin would come to him for the Iqāmah

91- When anyone of you prays two Rak‘ahs before the dawn prayer, he should lie on his right side

92- Witr is not incumbent like the status of the obligatory prayers, but it is a Sunnah that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) started practicing

93- Indeed, Allah, the Almighty,, has added a prayer for you, so offer it in the period between ‘Ishā' prayer and Fajr prayer; (it is) the Witr, (it is) the Witr

94- The one who has not prayed the Witr prayer before dawn, then there is no Witr for him

95- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer the Duha Prayer as four Rak‘ahs and sometimes as much more as Allah willed

96- Did the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) pray the Duha prayer? She said: No, unless he came back from being away

97- If a slave marries without his master’s permission, he is a fornicator

98- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) married Maymūnah when he was in the state of Ihrām and consummated marriage with her when he ended his Ihrām. She died in Sarif

99- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) allowed temporary marriage for three nights in the year of the battle of Awtās, then he forbade it

100- O Banu Bayādah, marry off (your daughters) to Abu Hind, and ask him to marry off (his daughters) to you
