1- A Muslim cannot inherit from a disbeliever nor can a disbeliever inherit from a Muslim

2- Actions are of six types and people are of four: two imperatives, one and its equal reward, one good deed with ten times as much reward, and one good deed with a seven-hundred-fold reward

3- Allah loves that His dispensations be taken as He loves that His obligations be observed

4- If Allah decreed that someone should die in a certain land, He makes for him a reason to go there

5- I am Dimām ibn Tha‘labah, from the brothers of Banu Sa‘d ibn Bakr

6- The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution upon every prayer

7- The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution by washing the body parts once

8- The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution by washing the body parts twice

9- If one of you feels something in his stomach and doubts whether he released some wind or not, he should not leave the mosque unless he hears a sound or smells an odor

10- It is due upon every Muslim to bathe for one day every seven days, in which he should wash his head and body

11- I came to the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) with the intention of embracing Islam. He commanded me to take a bath with water and the leaves of a lote tree

12- When you hear the Muezzin, say what he says and then invoke Allah's blessings upon me

13- He who builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him the like of it in Paradise.'

14- A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers anywhere else, except for the Sacred Mosque

15- When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him offer two Rak‘ahs before he sits down

16- When any of you enters the mosque, let him say: 'Allahumma iftah li abwāba rahmatik' (O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy). And when he leaves, let him say: 'Allahumma inni as’aluka min fadlik' (O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty)

17- 'O Bilāl, call the Iqāmah for the prayer; give us comfort by it.'

18- O people, I only did this so that you can follow my example and learn my prayer.'

19- 'When you pray, straighten your rows and let one of you lead in prayer, and when he says takbīr, say takbīr

20- By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, I am the closest among you to the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). Such was his prayer until he departed this world

21- The worst of thieves among people is the one who steals his prayer." He said: "How does he steal his prayer?" He said: "He does not perform its Rukū‘ or prostration perfectly

22- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) raised his back from Rukū‘ (bowing), he would say: "Sami‘a allāhu liman hamidah

23- The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to say after every obligatory prayer

24- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to say between the two prostrations: "Rabbi ighfir li, rabbi ighfir li" (My Lord, forgive me; my Lord, forgive me)

25- That is Satan who is known as Khinzab. If you perceive his effect, seek refuge with Allah from him and spit three times to your left

26- When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a pious child who supplicates for him

27- O Messenger of Allah, ’Umm Sa‘d died. Which charity is the best?" He said: 'Water.' He said: So, he dug a well and said: "This is for ’Umm Sa‘d

28- Indeed, the dearest of your names to Allah is ‘Abdullah and ‘Abdur-Rahmān

29- Whatever intoxicates in large amounts, its small amount is forbidden

30- A time limit was set for us regarding trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, plucking the armpit hair, and shaving the pubic hair—that we should not leave them for more than forty nights

31- Indeed, I do not shake hands with women. My statement to a hundred women is like my statement to one woman

32- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon us after his daughter had died and said: "Wash her three times, or five times or more if you find that necessary. Wash her with water and Sidr (ground lotus leaves), add camphor (or a pinch of camphor) to water in the last time, and let me know when you finish."

33- Observing Ribāt (guarding the Muslim frontiers in the cause of Allah) for a day and a night is better than fasting and standing for night prayer for a whole month. If a person dies (while performing Ribāt), he will receive the reward for his righteous deeds perpetually, will receive his provision, and will be saved from the trials of the grave

34- Perform ‘Umrah when Ramadan comes, for ‘Umrah in it is equivalent to Hajj

35- The actions of every dead person come to a halt except the one who is garrisoned on the frontier in the way of Allah. His deeds will keep growing till the Day of Judgment, and he will be secure from the trial in the grave.

36- O Messenger of Allah, we consider Jihad the best deed; should we not perform Jihad? He said, "No; rather, the best Jihad is Mabrūr (accepted) Hajj

37- A Muslim man went to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he was in the mosque and called him, saying: "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed adultery."

38- When Allah gathers the first and the last on the Day of Judgment, a banner will be raised for every traitor, and it will be said: This is the betrayal of so-and-so, the son of so-and-so

39- Sa‘d ibn ‘Ubādah sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) concerning a vow that was due upon his mother, who had died before she fulfilled it. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fulfill it on her behalf."

40- A spy from among the polytheists came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he was on a journey.

41- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us with seven and forbade us from seven

42- A man who had drunk alcohol was brought to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) who hit him with a palm stalk with about forty lashes.

43- The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) cut off (a thief's hand) for a shield that was worth three dirhams.

44- Every drink that intoxicates is unlawful.

45- O people, do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for safety

46- The prohibition of wine was revealed, which is made of five things: grapes, dates, honey, wheat, and barley.

47- Allah has guaranteed for the one who fights in His cause to admit him into Paradise if He takes his soul, or to return him safe and sound with reward or booty.

48- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) heard voices arguing at the door of his house.

49- Take from his money in a reasonable manner what suffices you and suffices your children

50- Observing Ribāt (guarding the Muslims' frontiers) for one day in the cause of Allah is better than the world and everything in it

51- ‘Abdur-Rahmān ibn ‘Awf and Az-Zubayr ibn al-‘Awwām (may Allah be pleased with both of them) complained of lice to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)

52- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed two black and white horned rams, which he slaughtered with his hand, as he mentioned Allah's name and said: "Allāhu Akbar" (Allah is the Most Great), and put his foot on their necks

53- A single journey undertaken in the early morning or in the evening in the cause of Allah is better than whatever the sun rises and sets upon

54- We were hosted by Abu Mūsa al-Ash‘ari (may Allah be pleased with him) and he asked for the food to be served and it had chicken meat in it.

55- May Allah destroy the Jews; the fat of animals was forbidden for them, but they melted it and sold it.

56- Whoever takes a false oath to deprive a Muslim person of his property unlawfully, will meet Allah while He is angry with him

57- These animals have instincts like those of the wild beasts, so if you lose control over one of them, treat it in this way

58- If a man – or he said someone – peeped at you without your permission and you threw a pebble at him that gouged out his eye, you would not be at fault.

59- No one is wounded in the way of Allah except that he comes on the Day of Judgment with his wound bleeding; the color is that of blood, and the smell is that of musk.

60- If anyone undertakes to take a false oath to appropriate the wealth of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him.

61- Whoever kills someone in battle, having a proof for that, his belongings are his.

62- We slaughtered a horse and ate it at the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him).

63- My sister vowed to walk to the Sacred Mosque barefoot. Then, she asked me to ask the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about it. I asked him, and he replied: "Let her walk and ride."

64- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating the flesh of domestic donkeys and permitted that of horses.

65- O ‘Abdur-Rahmān ibn Samurah, do not ask for a position of authority, for if you were granted such authority upon your request, you would be left (to manage it) unaided.

66- While the people were performing the Fajr prayer in Qubā' Mosque, someone came saying: Tonight, (a portion of the) Qur'an was revealed to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he was ordered to face the Qiblah, so face it.

67- Bilāl calls the Adhān at night; so, eat and drink until you hear the Adhān called by Ibn Umm Maktūm

68- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions went to Makkah, the polytheists said: "There will come to you people who are weakened by the fever of Madīnah." So, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) commanded his Companions to jog the three rounds (of Tawāf) and walk between the two Corners.

69- One day I climbed over Hafsah's house, and I saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) relieving himself while facing the Levant, with his back toward the Ka‘bah.

70- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) circumambulated the Ka‘bah in the Farewell Hajj on the back of a camel, touching the Corner with a crook.

71- I did not see the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) wiping with his hand anything of the House except the two Yemeni Corners.

72- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the privy, a servant and I used to carry a waterskin and a pointed staff, and he would cleanse himself with water

73- O people, proceed calmly, for goodness is not attained by rushing

74- A Bedouin came and urinated in a corner of the mosque

75- I saw you pray towards a direction other than the Qiblah! He said: Had I not seen the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) doing so, I would not have done it

76- Umm Habībah had non-menstrual vaginal bleeding for seven years. She asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about that, and he ordered her to take a ritual bath.

77- No one of you should urinate in stagnant water then take a ritual bath with it

78- I advise you to treat women kindly, for the woman was created from a rib, and the most crooked part of the rib is its uppermost part. If you try to straighten it, you will break it; and if you leave it, it will remain crooked. So, treat women kindly.

79- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saw a person sitting aloof and not praying with the people. He asked him: “O so-and-so, what prevented you from offering the prayer with the people?” He replied: “O Messenger of Allah, I am ritually impure and there is no water.” In response, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “You should use clean earth, and that will be sufficient for you.”

80- When Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came to Mina, he went to "Jamrat al-‘Aqabah" and threw pebbles at it. After that, he went to his tent in Mina and sacrificed. Thenو he called for a barber, pointed at the right side of his head, and said: "Shave from here." Then, he pointed at his left side and said: "Take (hair) from here." Then, he distributed his hair among the people.

81- Whoever takes an oath to do something and then he finds a better alternative which brings him closer to Allah should do what is better in piety

82- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) put me in charge of slaughtering his camels (which he wanted to sacrifice); and to give in charity their meat, skins, and saddle cloths; and not to give any of them to the butcher

83- Some of you would whip your wives as if they were slaves and then have intercourse with them at the end of the day

84- I was with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when he arrived at the dump of some people and passed urine while standing

85- Glory be to Allah! The believer never becomes impure

86- Straighten your rows, or Allah will cause dissension amongst you

87- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) led them in the Zhuhr prayer and continued after the first two Rak‘ahs without sitting for Tashahhud, and people stood with him. When he finished the prayer and people were waiting for his making Taslīm, he said Takbīr while sitting and prostrated twice before Taslīm, then he concluded his prayer with Taslīm.

88- Once I came riding a female donkey when I had almost attained the age of puberty. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was leading people in prayer at Mina with no wall in front of him

89- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) got up for prayer, he would say Takbīr when he stands. Then he would say Takbīr when he bows. Then he would say: "Allah hears the one who praised Him" when he raises his back from bowing

90- When the heat is intense, delay the prayer until it becomes fairly cool, for intense heat is from the boiling and breathing of Hellfire

91- Al-‘Abbās ibn ‘Abdul-Muttalib sought permission from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to spend the nights of Mina in Makkah to provide (the pilgrims with) water, and he permitted him

92- Hasten with the funeral, for if it is righteous, you will be taking it forward to what is good; and if it is otherwise, you will be laying evil off your necks

93- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) once sent sheep as Hady

94- An honest Muslim storekeeper, who carries out the orders of his master and pays fully what he has been ordered to give with a good heart and pays to that person to whom he was ordered to pay, is regarded as one of the two charitable persons

95- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer voluntary prayer on the back of his riding beast (camel), whatever direction it went. He would nod his head. Ibn ‘Umar would do so as well

96- I wove the collars for the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) then I marked them and he - or I - put the collars on their necks, and he sent them to the Ka‘bah and stayed at Madīnah, and he was not forbidden from anything which was lawful for him (before sending them)

97- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered the House along with Usāma ibn Zayd, Bilāl, and ‘Uthmān ibn Talha

98- The Prophet of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man carrying a sacrificial camel, so he said: Ride it. The man said: It is a sacrificial camel. He said: Ride it

99- If you wish, be patient and you will enter Paradise; or, if you wish, I will supplicate Allah to cure you

100- A person entered the mosque on a Friday through the gate facing Dar al-Qadā’ while the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was standing delivering the sermon
