1- Are you not aware that Islam wipes out all (sins) that preceded it, and that Hijrah wipes out all (sins) that preceded it, and that Hajj wipes out all (sins) that preceded it?

2- I came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he was cleansing his mouth with a ripe tooth-stick. The edge of the tooth-stick was on his tongue and he was making a sound like: “ugh, ugh” as if he was heaving, and the tooth-stick was in his mouth

3- .

4- "No prophet had been sent before me by Allah except that he had disciples and companions from his nation who adhered to his way and followed his command*. They were, then, succeeded by successors who would say what they did not do and do what they were not commanded to do. Whoever strives against them with his hand is a believer; whoever strives against them with his tongue is a believer; whoever strives against them with his heart is a believer; and beyond that, there is no mustard seed's weight of faith."

5- A man, who was set for travel, asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): Which type of Jihad is better? He replied: A word of truth said to a despotic ruler

6- I gave the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) a pledge to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish the prayer, to pay Zakah, to hear and obey, and to give sincere advice to every Muslim.

8- Woe to the heel bones from the Hellfire

9- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the ‘Ishā' prayer until part of the night had passed and it was dark. ‘Umar came to him saying: O Messenger of Allah, come to pray, the women and children have slept. He came out with his head dripping with water and said: Had it not been hard for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to perform that prayer at this hour

13- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: Which part of the prayer is the best? He replied: The long standing

16- Ten practices are part of the Fitrah: Trimming the mustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, rinsing the nose, trimming the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the armpit hair, shaving the pubic hair, and washing the private parts with water

18- I met Thawbān, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: Tell me about a deed to perform by virtue of which Allah admits me to Paradise - or he said: I said: about the deeds that Allah loves most - but he remained silent. Then I asked him, but he remained silent. Then I asked him for the third time, and he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about this, and he said: @"Make frequent prostrations to Allah, for you do not make a single prostration to Allah except that Allah raises you one degree therewith and remits one sin from you therewith."* Ma‘dān said: Then I met Abu ad-Dardā’ and I asked him and he told me the same as Thawbān.

19- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to strive during the last ten more than he would strive at any other time.

20- We used to prepare for the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) his tooth-stick and the water he used for making ablution. Then, Allah would awaken him whenever He willed during the night, and he would brush his teeth with the tooth-stick, make ablution, and perform prayer

21- "Anyone whose feet get covered with dust in the cause of Allah will not be touched by the Fire."

22- The martyr feels nothing from the agony of death except as one of you feels from the sting of an ant

23- "Whoever is pleased to be saved by Allah from the agonies of the Day of Judgment, let him give the insolvent respite or grant him remission."

24- "Whoever prays the Bardayn (Fajr and ‘Asr prayers) will enter Paradise."

25- If I am killed for the cause of Allah, will my sins be forgiven?

26- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to sleep at the beginning of the night and rise at its end to pray

27- O Messenger of Allah, I have two neighbors, so which one of them should I give a gift to? He said: The one whose door is the nearest to you

28- Breastfeeding produces the same interdiction which childbirth produces

29- None of you should fast on Friday, unless he fasts a day before it or a day after it

30- There is no emigration after the Conquest, but there is Jihad and good intention, and whenever you are called for Jihad, you should immediately respond to the call

31- A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about fasting while traveling. He answered: If you wish then fast, and if you wish then do not fast

32- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes get up at the time of Fajr while in a state of Janābah after having sexual intercourse with his wives, then he would take a ritual bath and fast

33- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting the two days: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Ad'ha; wearing a garment that is void of openings for hands; sitting on one’s buttocks while holding his both legs pulled back with his arms in case he wore only one garment; and praying after the Fajr and ‘Asr prayers

35- When the night approaches from this side, and the day retreats from that side, then it is time for the fasting person to break his fast

36- Zakah is not due on what is less than five ounces, nor on what is less than five camels, nor on what is less than five Wasqs

37- O Messenger of Allah, I had vowed, before embracing Islam, to make I‘tikāf for one night – another narration reads: for one day – the Sacred Mosque. He said: Then fulfill your vow.

38- "Fast when you see it, and break the fast when you see it, but if the sky is overcast and you cannot see it, then act on estimation."

39- "Leave what you doubt for what you do not doubt; indeed, truthfulness is tranquility, and lying is doubt."

40- "A man's prayer in congregation is twenty-something degrees higher than his prayer in his house and market*. When one performs ablution and perfects it, then goes out to the mosque, nothing motivates him except prayer and seeking nothing but prayer. For every step he takes, he is raised one degree and one sin is erased for him until he enters the mosque. When he enters the mosque, he remains in prayer as long as prayer is what keeps him therein. The angels will keep invoking the blessings of Allah on you as long as you are in the place where you performed prayer, saying: 'O Allah, have mercy on him! O Allah, forgive him! O Allah, accept his repentance!' as long as you do not harm anyone therein and do not break your ablution."

41- The blood of a Muslim is inviolable except by one of three: adultery by a married person, a life for a life (homicide), abandoning Islam and separating from the Islamic body

42- .

43- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) missed prayer at night because of sickness or otherwise, he would pray twelve Rak‘ahs during the daytime

44- : .

45- "He is in Hellfire." The people then went to look at him and found in his place a cloak which he had stolen from the war booty

46- "What if there was a river at the door of any of you wherein he takes a bath five times a day? Would there remain any of his filth?*" They said: Nothing of his filth would remain. He said: "This is similar to the five prayers by means of which Allah erases sins."

47- We used to speak during prayer; a man would talk with his companion at his side in the prayer until [this verse] was revealed: {...And stand before Allah in devout obedience.} So we were commanded to keep silent, such that we were forbidden to talk

48- A solar eclipse occurred during the Prophet's lifetime and he sent someone to summon people for a congregational prayer. They gathered and he came forward and began the prayer by making Takbīr. He bowed four times and prostrated four times in two Rak‘ahs

49- At every part of the night, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Witr: at its beginning, middle, and end. Finally he settled on performing Witr just before dawn

50- "Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and beat them for (not offering) it when they are ten, and separate them (boys and girls) in beds."

51- :

52- "The prayer of the one who did not recite the Opening of the Book (Surat al-Fātihah) is invalid."

53- "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, like the bath taken from sexual impurity, and then goes (to the mosque) is like the one who offers a camel as a sacrifice*; whoever goes at the second hour is like the one who offers a cow as a sacrifice; whoever goes at the third hour is like the one who offers a horned ram as a sacrifice; whoever goes at the fourth hour is like the one who offers a chicken as a sacrifice; and whoever goes at the fifth hour is like one who offers an egg as a sacrifice. When the Imām comes out, the angels come to listen to the Dhikr."

54- 'Whoever of you comes to attend the Friday prayer, let him take a shower."

55- Whoever attends a funeral until he offers the funeral prayer will get a reward equal to one Qirāt; and whoever attends it until the dead person is buried will get a reward equal to two Qirāts. It was asked: What are the two Qirāts? He replied: Like two huge mountains

56- "He who performs ablution properly and then comes to the Friday prayer and listens to it attentively and keeps silent, his sins between that Friday and the following Friday will be forgiven, with the addition of three more days*; but he who touches a pebble has engaged in idle activity."

57- "Whoever goes to the mosque in the morning or the evening, Allah has prepared an abode for him in Paradise every time he goes in the morning or the evening."

58- Whoever passes through any of our mosques or markets with arrows with him, he should hold them by their heads lest he injures any of the Muslims with them

59- "O people, spread the greeting of peace, feed others, maintain kinship ties, and pray at night when people are asleep, and you will enter Paradise in peace."

60- O Messenger of Allah, who is the best among people?

61- If a man calls his wife to fulfill his desire, she should come to him even if she is busy with the oven

62- "Every one of you is a guardian and responsible for his subjects*. The leader in charge of the people is a guardian and is responsible for them; the man is a guardian over his household and is responsible for them; the woman is a guardian over her husband's house and his children and is responsible for them; the slave is a guardian over his master's property and is responsible for it. Verily, each of you is a guardian, and each of you is responsible for his subjects."

63- Whoever unjustly usurps even one handspan of land, his neck will be encircled with it down the seven earths

64- When the Imām says amen, you too say amen, for whoever says amen at the same time the angels say amen will have his previous sins forgiven

65- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade Munābadhah, which is when a man throws a garment to another thus selling it to him before the buyer unfolds it or examines it. He also forbade Mulāmasah, which is when a man touches a garment [thus buying it] without examining it

66- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits until they are ripe. They said: What is meant by ripe? He said: When they become red. He added: What if Allah prevents the fruits, how could one of you consider his brother's money lawful for himself?

67- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited the selling of a fruit until it is evidently ripe. He forbade both the buyer and the seller

68- He who gives in charity the value of a date which was lawfully earned, and Allah only accepts that which has been lawfully earned, then Allah will accept it with His right hand and nurture it for him, just as one of you nurtures his foal, until it becomes like a mountain

69- .

70- If any of you leads the people in prayer, let him shorten it, because among them are the weak, the sick, and the busy. If any of you prays alone, then let him prolong (his prayer) as much as he wishes

71- . : :

72- "Silver for gold is Riba (usury) unless exchanged on the spot; wheat for wheat is Riba unless exchanged on the spot; barley for barley is Riba unless exchanged on the spot; and dates for dates is Riba unless exchanged on the spot."

73- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the town-dweller to sell (merchandise) on behalf of a Bedouin

74- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited the sale of exchange of gold with silver on credit

75- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of silver for silver and gold for gold except for equal quantities, and commanded us to buy silver with gold as we desire, and to buy gold with silver as we desire

76- Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man to lead an army or a military detachment, he would advise him to fear Allah and treat well those Muslims who are with him

77- They used to beat us over testimony and promises when we were still children

78- : :

79- The Imām is appointed so that he should be followed; so, do not act differently from him. When he makes Takbīr all of you should say it after him; bow when he bows; say "O our Lord, all praise be to You" when he says: Allah hears the one who praises Him; prostrate when he prostates; and all of you should pray sitting when he prays sitting

80- A previously married woman should not be married until her verbal consent has been sought, and a virgin should not be married until her permission has been sought. They said: O Messenger of Allah, what is her permission? He said: When she remains silent

81- The difference between our fasting and the fasting of the People of the Book is the Suhūr meal

82- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he used to be more generous than ever in Ramadan when Gabriel (Jibrīl) would meet him*. He used to meet him every night during Ramadan to revise the Qur'an with him. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was more generous than the fast wind.

83- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would not fast in any month more than he did in Sha‘bān

84- "He who prays before sunrise and before sunset will not enter Hellfire."

85- If I were to live till the next year, I would definitely fast the ninth day

86- "No Muslim person who, when an obligatory prayer becomes due, perfects its ablution, humility, and bowing except that it becomes an expiation for the sins that preceded it as long as he has not committed a major sin, and this applies to all times."

87- :

88- He who feeds a fasting person will earn the same reward as him

89- : .

90- Madīnah is a sanctuary from ‘Ayr to Thawr (mountains). Whoever innovates something new (in religion) or shelters an innovator in it will incur the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people, and Allah will accept from him neither an obligatory nor a supererogatory prayer on the Day of Resurrection

91- Whoever learned archery then forsook it, is not one of us, or he said: he has indeed disobeyed

92- Whoever dies without having fought (in the cause of Allah) or having thought of fighting (in the cause of Allah) will die while having one of the qualities of hypocrisy

93- "No owner of gold or silver who does not pay what is due on it except that on the Day of Judgment they will be made for him sheets of fire* and will be heated in the fire of Hell. His side, forehead, and back will be seared therewith. Whenever they cool down, they will be heated for him again on a day, the length of which is fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among the slaves and he sees his path, either to Paradise or Hellfire."

94- "There is none among you except that Allah will speak to him, with no interpreter between Him and him*. He will look to his right and see nothing except what he has sent forth, and he will look to his left and see nothing except what he has sent forth. And he will look ahead of him and see nothing except Hellfire in front of him. So, protect yourselves from Hellfire even with half a date."

95- There is no day on which Allah sets free more of His slaves from Fire than the Day of ‘Arafah. He verily draws near, then He boasts about them before the angels saying: What do these people want?

96- A man asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), saying: O Messenger of Allah, we travel by sea, and we carry with us a little water. If we make ablution with it, we will be thirsty. Can we make an ablution with the seawater? The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: @"Its water is purifying, and its dead animals are lawful."

97- "If the water is two pitchers, it will bear no impurity."

98- Two kinds of dead meat and two kinds of blood have been made lawful for you. The two kinds of dead meat are fish and locusts, and the two kinds of blood are the liver and spleen

99- If a fly falls into the drink of any one of you, he should dip it (in the drink) and then remove it, for in one of its wings there is a disease and in the other there is cure

100- He who drinks in a vessel (made) of gold or silver has, in fact, swallowed in his stomach fire from Hell
