1- He used to command us, when we were on a journey or were travellers, not to remove our leather socks for three days and nights—except in the case of Janābah (major ritual impurity). In other cases such as defecation, urination, or sleep, it is sufficient to wipe over leather socks

2- For you, Yazīd, is (the reward for) what you intended, and for you, Ma‘in, is what you took

3- The deeds of my Ummah, the good and the bad thereof, were presented to me. I found the removal of harm from the road among their good deeds, and the spittle in a mosque that was not buried among their bad deeds

4- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand in prayer at night until the skin of his feet would crack

5- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer in absentia for the Negus, and I was in either the second or the third row

6- The places that are dearest to Allah are the mosques, and the places that are most hateful to Allah are the marketplaces

7- War is deception

8- O Messenger of Allah, would I be rewarded for Abu Salāmah's children that I spend on them so as not to leave them like this and like that, while they are my children? He said: Yes, you will be rewarded for what you spend on them

9- In the time of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) we would not find such food except rarely. So if we found it, we had no napkins except our palms, forearms, and feet. Then we would pray without making (a new) ablution

10- O Allah, forgive those of us who are living and those of us who are dead, those of us who are young and those who are old, those of us who are males and those who are females, and those of us who are present and those who are absent. O Allah, whoever of us You give life, let him live upon Islam, and whoever of us You take in death, let him die in a state of faith. O Allah, deprive us not of his reward, and subject us not to temptation after his death

11- O Allah, so-and-so the son of so-and-so is under Your protection and mercy. So, protect him from the trial of the grave and the torture of Hellfire. You are worthy of fulfilling promises and worthy of praise. O Allah, forgive him and have mercy upon him, as You are the Most Forgiving and the Most Merciful

12- Indeed, the eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, and we do not say except what pleases our Lord. And indeed, over your departure, O Ibrahīm, we are grieved

13- A man came while the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was giving the Friday sermon. So he said to him: O So and so, have you prayed? He said: No. The Prophet said: Then get up and pray two Rak‘ahs

14- I accompanied the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) on his journeys, and he would not perform more than two Rak‘ahs. Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthmān used to do the same

15- I prayed behind the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) the funeral prayer of a woman who died in her postpartum period, and he was standing by the middle of her body

16- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man in charge of an army unit who led them in prayer; he always concluded his recitation with Sūrat al-Ikhlās

17- The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse on the death or life of anyone. So when you see that, supplicate to Allah, say Takbīr, pray, and give charity

18- I used to sleep in front of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) with my legs in his prayer direction. When he wanted to prostrate, he would prod me so that I withdraw my feet, and when he stood up, I would stretch them. In those days, houses had no lamps

19- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) went out to invoke Allah for rain. He faced the direction of Qiblah as he was invoking Allah, and turned his upper garment inside out. Then he prayed two Rak‘ahs and recited the Qur'an out loud in both of them

20- I prayed with ‘Imrān ibn Husayn behind ‘Ali ibn Abi Tālib. When he prostrated, he made Takbīr, when he raised his head he made Takbīr, and when he stood up after two Rak‘ahs, he made Takbīr

21- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was shrouded in some white Yemeni garments, with neither a shirt nor a turban

22- I heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) reciting Sūrat At-Tūr in the Maghrib prayer

23- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) Abu Bakr, and ‘Umar used to offer the Eid prayers before delivering the sermon

24- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey, he used to combine the Zhuhr and ‘Asr prayers, as long as he was continuing with his journey, and also used to combine the Maghrib and ‘Ishā' prayers

25- O Abu Dharr, if you cook broth, increase its water and take care of your neighbors

26- Eat, drink, wear clothes, and give charity without extravagance or pride

27- I have never prayed behind an Imām who was more brief and more perfect in prayer than the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)

28- I will lead you in prayer; although I do not intend to pray, it is just to show you how I witnessed the Messenger of Allah pray

29- It would have been better if you had recited Sūrat al-A‘la, Sūrat Ash-Shams, or Sūrat al-Layl, for the old, the weak, and the needy pray behind you

30- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) announced the death of the Negus on the day he had died. He took the people to the prayer place, lined them up, and made four Takbīrs

31- We used to perform the Friday prayer with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and leave at a time when the walls had no shadow that we could take as shelter

32- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver two sermons while standing, and he would separate them by sitting

33- The Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed on the Day of An-Nahr, then delivered a sermon, then slaughtered (an animal) and said: Whoever slaughtered before praying should slaughter another animal instead, and whoever has not yet slaughtered should slaughter while mentioning Allah's name

34- Whoever sleeps and fails to recite his nightly portion, or part of it, and then recites it between the Fajr prayer and the Zhuhr prayer, it will be recorded for him as if he recited it during the night

35- What an excellent dip vinegar is! What an excellent dip vinegar is

36- The believer who mixes with people and patiently bears their annoyance is better than the believer who does not mix with people or patiently bear their annoyance

37- The Ash‘aris, if they ran short of provisions while on a military expedition, or if their children did not have enough food in Madīnah

38- A woman from the tribe of Juhaynah came to the Prophet while she was pregnant from adultery

39- Bismillāhi arqīk, min kulli shay’in yu’dhīk, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘aynin hāsidin, Allāhu yashfīk, bismillāhi arqīk (In the Name of Allah, I recite a prayer (Ruqyah) over you, from everything that harms you, from the evil of every soul or the eye of an envier. May Allah cure you. In the Name of Allah, I recite a prayer (Ruqyah) over you)

40- As for this man, he has disobeyed the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)

41- I see that you like sheep and wilderness. So whenever you are with your sheep - or in the wilderness - and you want to call the Adhān, raise your voice

42- I gave the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) a zebra as a gift

43- When one of you feels drowsy during prayer, let him lie down till drowsiness goes away from him

44- By Allah, no one of you takes anything unlawfully except that he will meet Allah carrying it on the Day of Judgment

45- Let him, and pour a bucket or pail of water onto his urine. You were sent to make things easy and not to make them difficult

46- What is left of it (the sheep)? She replied: Nothing is left except its shoulder. He said: All of it is left except its shoulder

47- I used to pray with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his prayer was moderate in length and his sermon was moderate in length

48- Indeed, many women have come to the family of Muhammad complaining about their husbands. Those (men) are not the best among you

49- Whenever a woman harms her husband in this world, his wife from the Houris of Paradise says: Do not harm him! May Allah destroy you! He is but a passing guest with you, and he will soon leave you to join us

50- Spend (in charity), and do not keep account, lest Allah keep account of you, and do not hoard, lest Allah hoard from you

51- If I were to order anyone to prostrate himself before another, I would have ordered the wife to prostrate herself before her husband

52- You should pray as long as you have the energy to do so. If you feel tired, then lie down

53- It is not proper for a Muslim who has something to bequeath to stay for three nights without having his will written with him

54- The example of a miser and a generous person is that of two men wearing two iron cloaks covering their breasts up to their collar bones

55- Order him to speak, seek the shade, sit down, and complete his fast

56- Whoever finds his property intact with a bankrupt person, he has more right to take it than anyone else

57- If someone sells pollinated date palms, their fruits will be for the seller, unless the buyer stipulates the contrary

58- Do (good) deeds according to your capacity, for by Allah, Allah never grows weary (of giving rewards) unless you grow weary (of doing good deeds), and the best deed in His sight is that which is done regularly

59- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade riders being met on their way, and a townsman selling for a man from the desert

60- the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the Muzābanah sale: that is to sell fruits in one's garden, if it is palm trees, for dates by dry measure; and if it is a vineyard, to sell for raisins by dry measure; and if it is any crop to sell for a dry measure of its food. He forbade all such transactions

61- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited Shighār marriage

62- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the transaction called Habal al-Habalah

63- It is sustenance that Allah brought out for you. Do you have anything from its meat with you, so that you would feed us? We sent some of its meat to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) which he ate

64- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) bought food from a Jew and pledged him his iron armor

65- While we were on a journey with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) a man came while riding a mount of his

66- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sales called Mukhābarah, Muhāqalah, Muzābanah and the selling of fruits until they are fit for eating. He also forbade the selling of fruits but for money, except in the case of ‘Araya

67- Whenever we stopped somewhere (during a journey) for rest, we would not offer (voluntary) prayer until we have unloaded the luggage from the mounts' backs

68- We visited Khabbāb ibn al-Aratt (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was ill and he had been cauterized in seven places

69- Two of the Companions of Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) who never stop to pursue the good

70- You are the Most Glorious, the Most Holy, and the Lord of the angels and of the Spirit

71- Once the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon me while a man was in my house. He said: O ‘Ā'ishah, who is this (man)? I replied: He is my brother from breastfeeding. He said: O ‘Ā'ishah, be careful who you (women) count as your brothers from breastfeeding, for the breastfeeding (that makes marriage prohibited) is only that which satisfies hunger

72- O Messenger of Allah, I have acquired a piece of land in Khaybar, and I have never acquired a property more precious to me than that. What do you command me to do with it? He said: If you wish you can keep its origin as an endowment, and give its yield in charity

73- O Messenger of Allah, I married a woman. He asked: How much did you give her as dowry? He replied: A date seed weight of gold. he then said: May Allah grant you blessing. Hold a wedding feast, even if only with a sheep

74- Beware! Beware! This is definitely usury! This is definitely usury! Do not do so, but if you want to buy (a superior kind of dates) sell the inferior dates for money, and then buy the superior kind of dates with that money

75- the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited the price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute, and the money paid to a soothsayer

76- Do you think I bargained with you to take your camel? Take your camel and your dirhams; these are yours

77- Mention was made of coitus interruptus in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) whereupon he said: Why would anyone of you do that? Verily, no soul is ordained to be created but Allah will create it

78- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade ‘Uthmān ibn Mazh‘ūn to be celibate. If he had given him permission we would have castrated ourselves

79- I give her to you in marriage for what you have of the Qur'an

80- Do not buy it back and do not take back your charity, even if he gives it to you for one dirham, for the one who takes back his gift is like the one who takes back his vomit

81- The one who takes back the gift he has given to someone is like one who eats his vomit

82- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prayed in his house during his illness

83- Whoever pays in advance for anything, let him pay for a specified measure and a specified weight, to be delivered on a specified period of time

84- We were the wealthiest farmers among the Ansār, and we used to lease out the land (saying): The produce of this (part of land) would be ours and (the produce) of that would be theirs. But it so happened that at times this (land) gave harvest, but the other one produced nothing. So he (the Prophet) forbade this. However, so far as the payment in silver is concerned, he did not forbid it

85- We used to practice coitus interruptus while the Qur'an was being revealed. Sufyān said: If it had been something unlawful, then the Qur'an would have prohibited us from practicing it

86- A woman should not mourn for any dead person more than three days except her husband, for whom she should mourn four months and ten days

87- Do not sell gold for gold except like for like, and do not sell less amount for greater amount or vice versa. And do not sell silver for silver except like for like, and do not sell less amount for greater amount or vice versa. And do not sell gold or silver that is not present at the moment of exchange for gold or silver that is present

88- One may not combine in marriage a woman and her paternal aunt, or a woman and her maternal aunt

89- It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for a deceased more than three [days], but for her husband, four months and ten days

90- No one should prevent his neighbor from inserting a wooden peg into his wall. Abu Hurayrah then said: Why do I see you averse to that? By Allah, I will spread it [forcefully] among you

91- When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ''Sami‘allāhu liman hamidah (Allah hears whoever praises him),'' none of us would bend his back until the Prophet (ﷺ) had fallen in prostration. We would then fall in prostration right after him

92- When someone complained of an ailment

93- It is from the Sunnah that if someone marries a virgin, he should stay with her (the virgin) for seven days and then divide the nights between them. But if he marries a previously married woman, he should stay with her for three days, then divide the nights (between his wives)

94- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning the daughter of Hamzah: She is not lawful for me (to marry). That which is unlawful due to lineage (blood relation) is unlawful due to breastfeeding. She is the daughter of my foster-brother.

95- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to strive to fast on Mondays and Thursdays

96- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge (with Allah) against the Jinn and the evil eye

97- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to break his fast before praying by having three fresh dates

98- He used to serve his family. But when the time for prayer came, he would go out to the prayer

99- Of the people who live the best kind of life is the man who holds the reins of his horse in the way of Allah

100- Anyone among you stays behind and takes good care of the family and property of a warrior (in the cause of Allah) will receive half the reward of the warrior
