1- O Messenger of Allah, the properties (livestock) have perished and the roads have been cut off. So supplicate Allah to send us rain

2- I watched the prayer of Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and found his standing, his bowing, standing after bowing, prostration, sitting between the two prostrations, prostration, and sitting between Taslīm (end of the prayer) and going away nearly equal to one another

3- While a man was standing at ‘Arafāt, he fell from his mount and it snapped his neck. So, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wash him with water and Sidr, and shroud him in his two garments, and do not perfume him or cover his head, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment reciting Talbiyah (Here I am, O Allah, at Your service!)

4- A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) during the Battle of Uhud: "If I am killed, where do you think I would be?" He replied: "In Paradise." So the man threw some dates that were in his hand and fought until he was killed

5- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray while carrying Umāmah the daughter of Zaynab, daughter of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)

6- “We were forbidden to follow funeral processions, but the prohibition was not mandatory for us.”

7- A man who drank wine was brought to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), who said: Beat him

8- To Allah belongs what He takes, and to Him belongs what He gives, and for everything He sets a specific term. So she should have patience and seek the reward from Allah

9- Indeed, patience is at the first shock

10- Bilāl was ordered to pronounce the Adhān in pairs and the Iqāmah in singles

11- Get up and I will lead you in prayer

12- If your wife asks your permission to go to the mosque, do not prevent her

13- I prayed with Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthmān and I did not hear any one of them recite "In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful"

14- Among the most wicked people in the sight of Allah on the Day of Judgment is the man who has sexual intercourse with a woman and then divulges her secret

15- O Messenger of Allah, verily, Allah does not feel shy of the truth. If a woman had a wet dream, would it be obligatory on her to take a ritual bath? He replied: Yes, if she sees vaginal fluid

16- Whoever takes care of daughters and treats them kindly, they will be a screen for him from Hellfire

17- The ornament of the believer will reach as far as his ablution reaches

18- 'Indeed she has made such a repentance that if it were to be divided among seventy from the people of Madīnah, it would be enough for them all. Has she found something better than offering her own soul to Allah, Glorified and Exalted?

19- I used to wash the traces of semen from the garment of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he would go out to the prayer with water spots on his garment

20- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) did not observe a voluntary prayer more regularly than the two Rak‘ahs of Fajr

21- Praying in congregation is twenty-seven degrees better than praying alone

22- I asked ‘Ā’ishah: Why does the menstruating woman make up for her missed fasts but does not make up for the missed prayers?

23- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to pour water over his head thrice

24- I saw Ibn ‘Umar passing by a man who had made his camel kneel down so as to slaughter it. Ibn ‘Umar said: Slaughter it while it is standing with one leg tied up, as this is the Sunnah of Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)

25- O Allah, I declare strictly inviolable the rights of the two weak ones: the orphan and the woman

26- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to recline in my lap and recite the Qur'an during my menstruation

27- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer the Zhuhr prayer at the time of intense heat, and the ‘Asr prayer at the time when the sun was clear, and the Maghrib prayer when its time was due

28- That she brought her small son, who had not yet eaten solid food, to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) seated him on his lap, and he (the child) urinated on his garment. So the Prophet (ﷺ) called for some water, sprinkled it over the affected area, and did not wash it

29- I came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when he was in a red leather tent. Bilāl stepped out with ablution water (that was left over from the Prophet's ablution. There were some people who managed to get some of it (seeking its blessing), whereas others just received a sprinkle of it

30- If he sits between her four limbs and exerts himself, the ritual bath becomes obligatory

31- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer the Fajr prayer while some women from among the believers, wrapped in their garments, would attend the prayer with him. Then they would return to their homes, and no one would recognize them because of the darkness

32- O Messenger of Allah, what if a man comes to me wanting to take my money?

33- Practice archery, O progeny of Isma‘īl; your forefather was an archer

34- The best charity is providing the shade of a tent in the cause of Allah, or providing a servant for one who strives in the cause of Allah, or providing a young she-camel for one striving in the cause of Allah

35- He did a little but was greatly rewarded

36- I have told you repeatedly to use the tooth-stick

37- Do not be importunate in asking (for something), for by Allah, if one of you asked me for something and I gave it to him while I am reluctant, there will be no blessing in what I gave him

38- Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection

39- Allah forgives everything for the martyr except the debt

40- The upper hand is better than the lower hand

41- You would have received a greater reward had you given her to your maternal uncles

42- Give it to him, for the best among you are those who settle their debts in the best manner

43- His wealth is whatever he spends during his life, while the wealth of his heir is whatever he leaves after his death

44- Make haste to perform the Witr prayer before the morning

45- A man from among those who were before you was called to account (by Allah on the Day of Judgment). No good deeds were found in his record except that he, being a rich man, used to enter into transactions with people and used to command his servants to show leniency towards those who were insolvent. Allah, the Exalted, said: We are more entitled to this (leniency) than him. Pardon him.

46- O Banu Salimah, stay in your neighborhood, your footsteps are recorded for you; stay in your neighborhood, your footsteps are recorded for you

47- May Allah have mercy upon a man who wakes up at night and prays, and awakens his wife. If she refuses, he sprinkles water on her face. May Allah have mercy upon a woman who wakes up at night and prays, and awakens her husband. If he refuses, she sprinkles water on his face

48- Fight in the cause of Allah, for he who fights in the Cause of Allah for a period of time equal to that between two milkings of a she-camel, will be surely admitted to Paradise

49- When one of you stands up for offering voluntary prayer at night and finds it difficult to recite the Qur'an accurately, and he is unaware of what he is reciting, he should lie down

50- There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayyān through which those who fast will enter on the Day of Judgment. No one else will enter through it

51- May Allah have mercy upon Mūsa! He was hurt more than this but remained patient

52- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to leave fasting in a certain month until we would think that he has not fasted at all that month; and he used to fast in another month so much that we would think he has not stopped fasting at all in that month. If one wished to see him praying at night, one could see him (in that state), and if one wished to see him sleeping at night, one could see him (in that state) too

53- There should be no envy except in two (cases): A man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, and a man whom Allah has given wisdom and he judges according to it and teaches it to others

54- He who weeps out of fear of Allah, will not enter the Hell till the milk returns into the udder

55- It is better for one of you to take his rope, go out and gather a bundle of firewood on his back, sell it, and thereby Allah preserves his dignity, than to ask people—whether they give him or withhold from him

56- The liar is not the one who seeks reconciliation between people, conveying good, or saying good things

57- No one who enters Paradise would love to return to the life of this world even if he would be given everything that the world contains, except for the martyr. He will wish to return to the world and be killed ten more times on account of the honor that he will find

58- The example of a Mujāhid in the cause of Allah is like a person who keeps fasting, praying and reciting the verses of Allah unfailingly until the Mujāhid returns

59- If somebody keeps a horse in Allah's cause motivated by his faith in Allah and his belief in His promise, then he will be rewarded on the Day of Resurrection for what the horse has eaten or drunk and for its dung and urine

60- Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah will receive the same reward of freeing a slave

61- Paradise is guaranteed for any Muslim who fights in the cause of Allah for the length of time between two milkings of a she-camel. Anyone is wounded or injured in the cause of Allah, it will come on the Day of Judgment bleeding the most it ever bled, but its color will be like saffron and its fragrance will be like musk

62- What an excellent man ‘Abdullāh is if only he observes the night prayer

63- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) bought a camel from him, and he weighed out (the price) and paid him more than his due

64- Support your brother whether he is an oppressor or oppressed

65- Indeed, silk is worn by him who has no share (in the Hereafter)

66- Nay, I saw him in the Fire because of a mantle – or a cloak – that he had taken without right (from the war spoils)

67- Which charity earns the greatest reward? He said: That you give charity when you are healthy and miserly, fearing poverty and hoping to become rich. Do not delay charity until your soul reaches up to the throat, and then you say: This is for so-and-so and this is for so-and-so. Lo, it has already come into the possession of so-and-so

68- Theseits women

69- This man followed us. If you wish, allow him to come in, and if you wish, he will go back

70- I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) eating with three fingers, and when he finished eating, he would lick them

71- Those who were not fasting today have taken all the reward

72- He stood such that the Ka‘bah was on his left and Mina was on his right then he said: This is the standing place of the one to whom Sūrat al-Baqarah was revealed

73- O people of the Ansār, did I not find you in a state of misguidance then Allah guided you aright through me? Were you not divided then Allah brought you together through me? Were you not in a state of poverty then Allah made you wealthy through me?

74- Whoever was in I‘tikāf with me should stay in I‘tikāf the last ten; for I was informed of that night, but I was then made to forget it. I saw myself prostrating in water and mud in its morning. So, seek it in the last ten

75- It is not from righteousness to fast while traveling

76- We set out during the month of Ramadan with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) in such intense heat that one of us would place his hand over his head (to protect himself) against the excessive heat, and none of us was fasting except the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and ‘Abdullāh ibn Rawahah

77- No Zakah is to be paid by the Muslim on his slave or horse

78- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited Wisāl (continuous fasting for two days). So they said to him: But you practice Wisāl! He said: I am not like you. I am provided with food and drink (by my Lord)

79- Did the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibit the fasting of Friday? He said: Yes

80- Whoever dies while still having some fasts to make up for, his heir should fast on his behalf

81- O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died in a state that she had to observe the fast of a month. Should I complete it on her behalf? Thereupon he said: Would you not pay the debt if your mother had died without paying it? He said: Yes. He said: The debt of Allah is more worthy of being repaid

82- I heard the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon at ‘Arafāt, in which he said: Whoever does not find slippers or sandals (Na‘l) may wear leather socks (Khuff), and whoever does not find a waist sheet (Izār) may wear pants (Sirwāl). He meant the pilgrim in the state of Ihrām

83- There is no compensation for one killed or wounded by an animal or by falling in a well or because of working in a mine, and one fifth is due on the buried treasure

84- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions arrived at Makkah assuming Ihrām for Hajj on the fourth day (of Dhu al-Hijjah). The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to assume their Ihrām for ‘Umrah (instead of Hajj). They asked: O Messenger of Allah, to what extent should we lift the restrictions of Ihrām? He said: Lift the restrictions of Ihrām completely

85- How did the Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) travel (from ‘Arafah to Muzdalifah during Hajj)? He said: He would ride at a moderate pace, but when he saw a gap (in the crowd), he would hurry to fill it

86- The best (voluntary) fast in the sight of Allah is the fast of Dawūd, and the best (voluntary) prayer in the sight of Allah is the prayer of Dawūd. He used to sleep half of the night, stand to pray one third of it, and then sleep one sixth of it, and he used to fast every other day

87- There is no fasting superior to the fast of my brother Dawūd; fasting half of one's life by fasting one day and eating one day

88- Five animals are all vicious and harmful and are to be killed (even) inside the Sacred Precincts: the crow, the kite, the scorpion, the mouse, and the mordacious dog

89- He should not wear a shirt, a turban, trousers, a hooded cloak, or leather socks except if he cannot find sandals; he may wear leather socks after cutting them to make them lower than the ankles

90- If I had formerly known what I came to know lately, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal with me. Had there been no sacrificial animal with me, I would have ended my state of lhrām

91- Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have forbidden selling alcohol, dead animals, swine, and idols

92- He used to command us, when we were on a journey or were travellers, not to remove our leather socks for three days and nights—except in the case of Janābah (major ritual impurity). In other cases such as defecation, urination, or sleep, it is sufficient to wipe over leather socks

93- For you, Yazīd, is (the reward for) what you intended, and for you, Ma‘in, is what you took

94- The deeds of my Ummah, the good and the bad thereof, were presented to me. I found the removal of harm from the road among their good deeds, and the spittle in a mosque that was not buried among their bad deeds

95- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand in prayer at night until the skin of his feet would crack

96- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer in absentia for the Negus, and I was in either the second or the third row

97- The places that are dearest to Allah are the mosques, and the places that are most hateful to Allah are the marketplaces

98- War is deception

99- O Messenger of Allah, would I be rewarded for Abu Salāmah's children that I spend on them so as not to leave them like this and like that, while they are my children? He said: Yes, you will be rewarded for what you spend on them

100- In the time of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) we would not find such food except rarely. So if we found it, we had no napkins except our palms, forearms, and feet. Then we would pray without making (a new) ablution
