1- Some people dispose of Allah's property wrongfully. For them will be Hellfire on the Day of Judgment

2- Life in this world is sweet and green, and indeed, Allah has made you successors there to see how you will behave. So, be cautious of this world and be cautious of women

3- Were this world worth a wing of a mosquito in the sight of Allah, He would not have given the disbeliever a drink of water thereof

4- Every Ummah has a trial, and the trial of my Ummah is wealth

5- If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, it would please me that I should have nothing left of it with me after the passage of three nights, except what I might retain to repay a debt

6- This world in comparison with the Hereafter is like the amount of water one of you gets when he dips his finger in the sea. Let him see what his finger returns with

7- Verily, among the things I fear the most for you is the splendor and pleasures of this worldly life when they become plentifully available to you

8- The dead person is followed by three: His family, his wealth and his deeds. Then two of them come back: His family and his wealth, and there remain only his deeds

9- Wretched is the slave of the dinar! Wretched is the slave of the dirham! Wretched is the slave of Khamīsah! Wretched is the slave of velvet! If given, he is pleased, but if not, he is displeased. May he be wretched and may he relapse, and if he is pierced with a thorn, may he not find anyone to take it out for him

10- You will eagerly seek out a position of authority, but it will be a source of regret on the Day of Judgment. How excellent is the wet nurse, and how evil is the weaning one

11- This world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever

12- O Hakīm, this money is like a sweet fresh fruit; whoever takes it without greediness, he is blessed in it, and whoever takes it with greediness, he is not blessed in it, and he is like a person who eats but is never satisfied; and the giving hand is better than the receiving hand

13- I believe you heard that Abu ‘Ubaydah has returned from Bahrain with something

14- By Allah! There is no true life, except that of the Hereafter

15- Verily, this world is cursed, and everything in it is cursed, except the remembrance of Allah an all what is relevant to it; a scholar and a seeker of knowledge

16- By Allah, the world is less worthy to Allah than this is to you

17- I saw how the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) would pass a whole day writhing (from hunger), not even finding bad dates to fill his stomach with

18- If the son of Adam were to own a valley of gold, he would desire to have two valleys. Nothing can fill his mouth except dust, and Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents

19- Successful is the one who enters Islam and is provided with mere subsistence and Allah makes him content with what He has given him

20- Al-‘Adbā', the Prophet's she-camel, was never outrun

21- Do not crave for property lest you should become consumed with desire for worldly life

22- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) went out and supplicated for the martyrs of the battle of Uhud eight years after (their death), as if he was bidding farewell to the living and the dead
