1- If you are three, then two should not converse privately with the exclusion of the third, until more people join you, because that would grieve him

2- No one of you should drink while standing

3- No man should move another from the place he is sitting then sit in it. Instead, make room and spread out

4- The young should greet the old, the passer-by should greet the one who is sitting, and the small group of people should greet the larger one

5- When a group of people pass by, it is sufficient if one of them extends the greetings on their behalf, and it is sufficient if one returns the greeting on behalf of a group

6- Travel is a portion of torment

7- Whoever gives up wearing elegant expensive clothes out of humbleness with Allah, while he can afford it, Allah will call him on the Day of Judgment before all people and let him choose whichever of the garments of faith he would like to wear

8- None of you should drink while standing, and whoever forgets, then let him induce vomit

9- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited drinking directly from the mouth of a waterskin

10- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) forbade turning the waterskins upside down and drinking from their mouths

11- that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited blowing in one's drink

12- I passed by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and my lower garment was trailing. Therefore, he said: O ‘Abdullāh, pull up your lower garment. I raised it and he said: Up! So I raised it further, and I have been doing so since then. Some people said: Up to where? He said: To the middle of the shins

13- If a Muslim visits his sick fellow Muslim, he will remain in the Khurfah of Paradise tills he leaves returns

14- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was given something to drink, so he drank from it, and there was a boy on his right

15- None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so he may do more good; or he is an evildoer, so he may give up evil deeds

16- Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ate food, he would lick his three fingers

17- I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) while he was giving a sermon

18- The example of the companion of the Qur’an is like the owner of tied camels. If he keeps them tied, he will hold them; but if he releases them, they will run away

19- That he passed by some boys, so he greeted them with Salām and said that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to do so

20- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man praising another and exaggerating in his praise, whereupon he said: You have ruined - or cut - the man's back.

21- Woe unto you! You have cut the neck of your companion

22- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) forbade traveling with the Qur’an to the land of enemies

23- While a man was walking, dressed in fine clothes and admiring himself, with his hair well-combed

24- While we were on a journey with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) a man came while riding a mount of his

25- O Abu al-Hasan, how is the Messenger of Allah this morning? He said: He is feeling better this morning, by the grace of Allah

26- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) traveled, he would seek refuge from the hardships of the journey, from having a change of heart, adverse conditions replacing good ones, the prayer of an oppressed person, and from seeing a misfortune occurring to his family and wealth

27- The lonely rider is a devil, two riders are two devils and three are a traveling team

28- When you travel through green lush land, give the camels their share from the ground, and when you travel through dry barren land, make them walk quickly before their strength falters

29- Travel during the night, for indeed, the land is folded up at night

30- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) encamped to sleep at night during a journey, he would lie down on his right side, and when he wanted to sleep before dawn, he would extend his forearm and place his head on his palm

31- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to stick to the rear while traveling, urging the weak to walk quickly, letting some ride behind him, and making supplication for them

32- Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) mounted his camel while setting out on a journey, he would say Takbīr three times and then say: Glory be to the One who subdued this (ride) for us and we were not ourselves powerful enough to use it as a ride, and to our Lord we shall, indeed, return

33- O group of Muhājirūn and Ansār! There are among you such people who have no property and no kinsfolk. So let each one of you take along with him two or three men

34- Food for two persons suffices for three, and food for three persons suffices for four

35- Fear Allah and say "Allah is the Greatest" upon every elevated place

36- Allāhumma qini ‘adhābaka yawma tajma‘u or tab‘athu ‘ibādak (O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the Day You gather or resurrect Your servants)

37- When we ascended (a high land), we used to say Takbīr, and when we descended, we used to say Tasbīh

38- O people, do not trouble yourselves too much. He Whom you are calling is not deaf or absent. Verily, He is with you, He is All-Hearing and Ever Near

39- No Muslim visits a (sick) Muslim early in the morning but seventy thousand angels send blessings upon him

40- Whoever acquires knowledge that should be pursued for the sake of Allah Almighty for the sole purpose of securing worldly gains shall not smell the ‘Arf of Paradise on the Day of Judgment

41- The worst lie is when a man claims to have seen something which he has not seen

42- It does not befit the truthful one to frequently curse others

43- Do not curse one another, invoking the curse of Allah or His wrath or the fire of Hell

44- Unload it and set it free, for it is cursed

45- Let the she-camel upon which curse has been invoked not accompany us

46- If a man says: People are ruined, he himself will be the most ruined among them all

47- When two people insult each other, the one who started will be the sinner until the oppressed exceeds the limits

48- Why do you sit in pathways? Avoid sitting in pathways

49- Cover the vessels, fasten the waterskins, close the doors, and extinguish the lamps, for, indeed, the devil does not loosen waterskins, nor open doors, nor uncover vessels

50- O people, he who knows about something, let him say it. And he who does not know should say: Allah knows best. It is part and parcel of knowledge that a man who does not know something should say: Allah knows best

51- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a man wears his shoes while standing

52- Do not curse the fever, for it removes the sins of the children of Adam the same way the bellows remove the impurities of iron

53- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) commanded licking the fingers and the dish (after eating), and he said: You do not know in which portion the blessing lies

54- May the fasting people break their fast in your house, and may the righteous eat your food, and may the angels ask forgiveness and mercy for you

55- Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people; rather, He takes away knowledge with the death of the scholars

56- Offer this prayer at this time and that prayer at that time. When the time for a prayer is due, let one of you call the Adhān, and let the one who knows the Qur’an most lead the prayer

57- If one of you is invited to a wedding banquet, he should attend

58- The worst food is the food of a wedding banquet to which the rich are invited while the poor are left out. Anyone who does not answer the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)

59- If anyone of you is invited, let him answer the invitation. If he is fasting, let him supplicate (for the inviter); if he is not fasting, let him eat

60- Blessing descends in the middle of the food. So eat from the sides, and do not eat from the middle

61- Wear white clothes, for they are among the best of your clothes; and shroud your deceased in them

62- Today, I shall be the gatekeeper of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and pushed the door and I said: "Who is it?" He said: "This is Abu Bakr." I said: "Wait, please." I went and said: "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr seeks permission to come in." He said: "Let him in and give him glad tidings of Paradise."

63- The best sitting places are the widest

64- O Abu Batn, we only go to the market to greet with peace everyone we meet

65- The devil circulates in the son of Adam like blood. I feared lest he should cast evil thoughts in your hearts

66- O Allah, cure Sa‘d, O Allah, cure Sa‘d

67- Your scattering about in the mountain passes and valleys is indeed from the devil

68- I was with Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) in the company of some Magians when a sweet was brought in a silver vessel, and Anas did not eat from it

69- We went out along with the children to meet the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) at Thaniyyat al-Wadā‘

70- Did anyone of you have a dream? So dreams would be narrated to him by those whom Allah willed to relate. One day he said: Last night, I had a vision in which two men (angels) came to me, woke me up and said to me: Let’s go! So I set out with them

71- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed us of what was and of what is to come. The most knowledgeable among us is the one who memorized it best

72- Do not curse the rooster, for indeed it awakens (people) for prayer

73- You are right about some of it and wrong about some

74- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) visited me during my illness, riding neither a mule nor a horse

75- Raisins used to be soaked for the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) in a water skin, and he would drink it that day, the next day, and the following day. In the evening of the third day, he would drink it and give some to others. If anything was left, he would spill it

76- When one of you sneezes, he should say "alhamdu-lillāh" (praise be to Allah) and his brother or companion should say to him: "yarhamuk Allah" (may Allah have mercy on you). When he says so to him, the sneezer should reply: "yahdīkum Allah wa yuslih bālakum!" (may Allah guide you and grant you well being)

77- Do not say "Upon you be peace" for "Upon you be peace" is the greeting of the dead

78- O Allah, Lord of mankind, Remover of harm. Cure, You are the Curer. There is no curer but You. A cure that leaves behind no illness

79- A man came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: As-salāmu ‘alaykum (peace be upon you). He responded to him and then sat down. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ten

80- It is not lawful for a Muslim woman to travel the distance of one night unless accompanied by a man who is a Mahram (non-marriageable male relative) to her

81- The Muslim's lower garment should be halfway down the leg. There is no harm - or there is no blame - between that and the ankles. However, what is below the ankles is in the Fire. Whoever trails his lower garment out of vanity, Allah will not look at him

82- When any of you yawns, let him put his hand over his mouth, for indeed, the devil enters

83- The Muslim's right over his fellow Muslim is six." It was said: What are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "When you meet him, greet him with peace; when he invites you, accept his invitation; when he seeks your advice, advise him; when he sneezes and praises Allah, say Tasmīt to him; when he falls sick, visit him; and when he dies, follow him

84- Allah does not look at the one who drags his garment out of conceit

85- Adh-hib al-ba’sa rabb an-nās washfi anta ash-shāfi la shifā’ illa shifā’uk shifā’an la yughādiru saqama (Remove the harm, Lord of the people, and heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves behind no illness)

86- An oath is a means for selling a commodity and a means for destroying the profit

87- No two Muslims meet and shake hands except that their sins are forgiven before they part

88- May Allah brighten the person who hears something from us and conveys it as he heard it, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed is more mindful than the hearer

89- Any person who says to his brother: O disbeliever, it will, indeed, fall upon one of them; if he is as he said, or else it will return to him

90- Allah Almighty said: The son of Adam hurts Me by cursing time, while I am time. The matter is in My Hands, I alternate the night and the day
