1- A man from the people of Najd, with disheveled hair, came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). We could hear his loud voice but could not understand what he was saying until he came close to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) when it became clear that he was asking about Islam. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Five prayers every day and night." He said: Do I have to perform any besides these? He said: "No, unless you do so voluntarily. And fasting the month of Ramadan." He said: Do I have to fast any beyond this? He said: "No, unless you do so voluntarily." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned Zakah to him. He said: Do I have to pay any besides this? He said: "No, unless you do so voluntarily." He said: The man, then, turned away while saying: By Allah, I shall neither add to this nor omit from it. Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: @"He will succeed if he proves to be truthful."

2- "The best day upon which the sun has risen is Friday*; on it Adam was created, on it he was admitted to Paradise, on it he was expelled therefrom, and the Hour will not take place except on Friday."

3- A huge fat man will come on the Day of Judgment weighing less than a mosquito wing in the sight of Allah

4- "No slave covers another slave in this world except that Allah would cover him on the Day of Judgment."

5- :

6- He who is inflicted with poverty and seeks relief from people, he will not be relieved; whereas he who seeks relief from Allah, he will be given sustenance from Allah sooner or later

7- "When a Muslim is questioned in the grave, he testifies that no deity is worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah*," this is His saying: {Allah keeps those who believe steadfast with the firm Word [of faith] in the life of this world and in the Hereafter.} [Surat Ibrāhīm: 27]

8- "I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establish prayer, and pay Zakah*; if they do so, they protect their blood and properties from me, except through the right of Islam; and their reckoning is with Allah."

9- Allah has pardoned for my sake the mistakes and forgetfulness of my Ummah, and what they were coerced to do

10- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) died when my house was void of any edible thing except for a small quantity of barley I had on a shelf and from which I kept eating it for a long time. Then when I measured what was left of it, it soon finished

11- "A believer is brought close to his Almighty Lord on the Day of Judgment, and He bestows His Kanaf (concealment) on him and makes him confess his sins* saying: Do you know? And he says: O Lord, yes, I know. He says: I have concealed them for you in the worldly life, and I forgive them for you today, and he is, then, given the record of his good deeds. As for the disbelievers and the hypocrites, they will be called out before all of the creation: These are the ones who lied against Allah."

12- Allah divided mercy into one hundred parts. He retained with Him ninety-nine parts and sent down to earth one part. Because of this one part, creatures show mercy towards each other, so much so that an animal lifts its hoof away from its youngster lest it should hurt it

13- I was on a journey in the company of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). One morning I was close to him when we were on the move, so I said: O Messenger of Allah, inform me of a deed that admits me to Paradise and keeps me far from Hellfire. He said: @"You have asked me about a great matter, which is, indeed, easy for whomever Allah makes it easy*. Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish the prayer, give Zakah, fast Ramadan, and make Hajj to the House." Then he said: "Shall I not guide you to the gates of goodness? Fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire, and a man's prayer in the dead of night." He said: Then he recited: "{They forsake their beds} until he reached {what they used to do} [Surat as-Sajdah:  16-17]." Then he said: "Shall I inform you of the head of the whole matter, its pillar, and its peak?" I said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: "The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is the prayer, and its peak is Jihad." Then he said: "Shall I inform you of what holds all these things?" I said: Yes, O Prophet of Allah. So he took hold of his tongue and said: "Keep this under control." I said: O Prophet of Allah, are we held accountable for what we speak? He said: "May your mother lose you, O Mu‘ādh! What else casts people into Hellfire on their faces or on their noses other than the harvest of their tongues?"

15- He said to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): What if I meet a man from the disbelievers and we both fight? He strikes one of my hands with the sword and cuts it off, then he seeks refuge from me in a tree and says: I have submitted to Allah. O Messenger of Allah, should I kill him after saying it? The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not kill him." He said: O Messenger of Allah, he cut off one of my hands, then he said this after cutting it off. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: @"Do not kill him, for if you kill him, he will be in the same position as yours before you kill him, and you will be in the same position as his before saying the word that he said."

16- O Usāmah, you killed him after he had said "there is no god but Allah"?

17- "Man's feet will not move from their place on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about his life, in what he let it perish; about his knowledge, what he did with it; about his money, from where he earned it and on what he spent it on; and about his body, and how he wore it out."

18- .

19- When Allah created the creation, He wrote in a book, which is with Him over the Throne: Verily, My mercy predominates over My anger

20- "The believers, in their mutual love, compassion, and sympathy, are like a single body; if one of its organs suffers, the whole body will respond with sleeplessness and fever."

21- Anyone pledges allegiance to a ruler, giving him the grasp of his hand and sincerity of his heart, he should obey him to the best of his capacity. If another man comes forward disputing his authority, then you should behead the latter

22- "He is not one of us who slaps the cheeks, splits the collars, and calls out with the calls of Jāhiliyyah (pre-Islamic era of ignorance)."

23- Among them are those whom the fire will reach up to their ankles, others up to their knees, others up to their waists, and others up to their collarbones

24- .

25- Every person will be resurrected in the same state he died in

26- "The strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer, and there is good in both.* Adhere to whatever brings you benefit, seek the help of Allah, and do not feel helpless. If something befalls you, do not say: 'Had I done such-and-such, it would have been such-and-such;' rather, say: 'Allah has decreed, and whatever He wills, He does.' Indeed, 'if' opens the way before the devil to act."

27- Allah, Glorified and Exalted, will say on the Day of Judgment: O son of Adam, I was ill, but you did not visit Me

28- We were talking about the Farewell Hajj, when the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was with us. We did not know what the Farewell Hajj signified

29- No Prophet was sent but that he warned his people against the one-eyed liar

30- The Hadīth on Intercession

31- When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) set out for Hunayn, he passed by a tree of the polytheists called Dhāt Anwāt, upon which they used to hang their weapons. They said: O Messenger of Allah, make for us a Dhāt Anwāt just as they have a Dhāt Anwāt. Thereupon, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Glory be to Allah! This is like what the Children of Israel said to Mūsa (Moses): {Make for us a god just as they have gods.} [Sūrat al-A'rāf: 138] @By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, you will follow the ways of those before you."

33- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah'sAllah's peace and blessings be upon him) came into my place, and there was a curtain with some images on it that I had hung along a platform of mine. On seeing it, he tore it up, and the colour of his face changed, and he said: "O ''Ā’ishah, @the people who will receive the severest punishment on the Day of Judgment will be those who try to emulate Allah'sAllah's creation*." ''Ā’ishah said: "So, we tore it and made one or two cushions out of it."

34- Whenever the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man to lead an army or a military detachment, he would advise him to fear Allah and treat well those Muslims who are with him

35- If you spend the like of Uhud in gold, Allah will not accept it from you until you believe in predestination, and know that what has befallen you would not have missed you and what has missed you would not have befallen you. If you die on other than this, you will be among the people of Hellfire

36- The first thing Allah created was the Pen. He commanded it to write. It said: My Lord, what shall I write? He said: Write down what has been ordained for all things until the establishment of the Hour

37- Allah, the Exalted, said: Glory is My Izār and Pride is My Cloak. I will punish whoever contends with Me over either of them

38- A person who attributes his fatherhood to anyone other than his real father, knowing that he is not his father, commits an act of disbelief. And he who makes a claim of anything which in fact does not belong to him, is none of us, and he should make his abode in Hell. And he who labels anyone as disbeliever or calls him the enemy of Allah while he is in fact not so, his charge will revert to him

39- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah said: @The son of Adam tells a lie against Me and he has no right to do so; and he insults Me and has no right to do so*. His lying against Me is his saying: He will not resurrect me as He created me for the first time,' although the first creation was not easier for Me than resurrecting him. His insulting Me is his saying: 'Allah has begotten a son,' while I am The One, The Eternal Refuge, Who begets not nor was He begotten, and there is none like unto Me."

40- Allah has appointed an angel in charge of the womb, and the angel says: O Lord, (it is) a sperm drop! O Lord, (it is now ) a clot! O Lord, (it is now) a piece of flesh. Then, when Allah wills to complete its creation, the angel asks: O Lord, (will it be) a male or female? Wretched (an evil doer) or blessed (doer of good)? How much will his provisions be? How long will he live? All that is written while the fetus is still in his mother's womb

41- The Kursi is the resting place of the feet, and the size of the Throne cannot be estimated

42- A Jew came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Muhammad, Allah holds the heavens on one Finger, the earths on one Finger, the mountains on one Finger, the trees on one Finger, and the creatures on one Finger, then He says: I am the King

43- .

44- :

45- Take it off, for it will only increase your weakness. If you die with it on, you will never succeed

46- "Do you know who the bankrupt is?*" They said: "The bankrupt among us is the one who has neither money nor belongings." He said: "Verily, the bankrupt in my Ummah is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with prayers, fasting, and Zakah, but he comes while he has hurled abuse at this one, slandered that one, unlawfully consumed the wealth of this one, shed the blood of that one, and beat this one. So, this one will be given of his good deeds and that one will be given of his good deeds. If his good deeds run out before justice is fulfilled, some of their sins will be cast upon him and then he will be thrown into Hellfire."

47- "No owner of gold or silver who does not pay what is due on it except that on the Day of Judgment they will be made for him sheets of fire* and will be heated in the fire of Hell. His side, forehead, and back will be seared therewith. Whenever they cool down, they will be heated for him again on a day, the length of which is fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among the slaves and he sees his path, either to Paradise or Hellfire."

48- "There is none among you except that Allah will speak to him, with no interpreter between Him and him*. He will look to his right and see nothing except what he has sent forth, and he will look to his left and see nothing except what he has sent forth. And he will look ahead of him and see nothing except Hellfire in front of him. So, protect yourselves from Hellfire even with half a date."

49- A group of people came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). He accepted the pledge of allegiance of nine and did not accept it from one. They said: O Messenger of Allah, you accepted the pledge of nine but not of this one. He said: "He is wearing an amulet." So, he put his hand in and cut it, and thus, accepted his pledge and said: @"Whoever hangs an amulet has committed Shirk (polytheism)."

50- O Ruwayfi‘, you may live a long life after me; so, inform people that anyone who ties his beard, wears a string around his neck, or cleanse himself with animal dung or with bone, indeed Muhammad has nothing to do with him

51- Angels were created from light, Jinn were created from a smokeless flame of fire, and Adam was created from what was described to you

52- My Lord has promised me that seventy thousand of my Ummah will enter Paradise without being brought to account or punished. With every thousand there will be (another) seventy thousand, and three handfuls of my Lord

53- The Rahim (kinship ties) is hanging on to the Hujzah of the Most Merciful; He maintains ties with whoever maintains it (the Rahim) and severs ties with whoever severs it

54- Would you not be content if I maintain ties with whoever maintains you, and sever ties with whoever severs you?

55- The Sirāt will be placed over the center of Hell, covered with thorns similar to the thorns of the Sa‘dān. Then, people will pass over it; some will be safe without any harm, some will be safe after receiving some scratches, and some will fall down into Hell

56- Our Lord will reveal His Shin, and then all believers, men and women, will prostrate themselves before Him, but there will remain those who used to prostrate in the worldly life for showing off and gaining good reputation. Such people will try to prostrate (in that situation) but their backs will be as stiff as if it is one bone

57- :

58- Are you astonished at the jealousy of Sa‘d? I swear by Allah, I am more jealous than him, and Allah is more jealous than me. Because of His jealousy, Allah has prohibited immorality, the apparent and the hidden thereof

59- No one, or nothing, is more patient about the offensive statements he hears than Allah. Verily, they ascribe a son to Him, yet He still grants them good health and sustenance

60- The Hadīth of Abu Sa‘īd depicts some of the scenes of the Day of Judgment, when the believers see Allah, Blessed and Exalted; the "Sirāt" (bridge over Hell), taking anyone in whose heart there is an atom weight of faith out of the Fire, and the intercession

61- The Hellfire will keep on saying: Are there anymore (to come), until the Lord of Honor puts His Foot therein. It will then say: I had enough! I had enough! [I swear] by Your Honor, and its sides will come together and it will retreat

63- There is none among you except that his seat in Paradise or in Hell is decreed

64- "No man accuses another man of defiant disobedience or accuses him of disbelief except that it rebounds on him if his companion is not like that."

65- Whoever incites a woman against her husband or a slave against his master is not one of us

66- The Jews and Christians do not dye (their grey hair), so do the opposite of what they do

67- The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) did not believe in evil omens

68- Those who make these images will be tortured on the Day of Resurrection. It will be said to them: Bring to life what you have created

69- "Angels do not enter a house with a dog or an image inside it."

70- "Angels do not accompany a group of travelers who have a dog or a bell with them."

71- "Do not swear by Tawāghi (idols) nor by your fathers."

72- "Whoever swears by the Amānah (trust) is not one of us."

73- .

74- "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe, and a Muhājir (emigrant) is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden."

75- I know the last of the inhabitants of Hell to come out of it, and the last of the inhabitants of Paradise to enter it. He is a man who will emerge from Hellfire crawling, and Allah, the Almighty, will say to him: Go and enter Paradise. When he arrives, it will appear to him that it is full. He will say: O Lord, I have found it full

76- Do you find any difficulty in seeing the sun at noon when there are no clouds? They said: No. He again said: Do you find any difficulty in seeing the moon during the fourteenth night when there are no clouds?

77- Allah has ninety-nine names – one hundred minus one – and no one memorizes them but that they will enter Paradise. He is One, and He loves odd numbers

78- There are angels at the entrances of Madīnah, so neither the plague nor the Antichrist shall enter it

79- :

80- All of the earth is a mosque (prayer place) except the graveyard and the bathroom

81- When one of you stands to pray, he is privately conversing with his Lord, or his Lord is between him and the prayer direction. So let no one of you spit in the direction of prayer, but only to his left or under his feet

82- I have not been ordered to build lofty mosques

83- "Do not revile my Companions, for if anyone of you spends gold equal to Mount ’Uhud (in Allah's cause), it will not be equal to a Mudd or even half a Mudd spent by one of them."

84- "A man who took part in Badr and Hudaybiyah will not enter Hellfire."

85- :

86- "Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn are the masters of the youth of Paradise."

87- One day the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) brought Al-Hasan and took him up the pulpit with him and said: This son of mine is a master and hopefully Allah will reconcile by means of him two groups of Muslims

88- Anyone who loves Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn has indeed loved me, and anyone who hates them has indeed hated me

89- When Allah wills good for a slave, He uses him before he dies

90- They spoke the truth. They are tormented, and their torment can be heard by all animals

91- This Ummah will be tested in their graves. Were it not that you would not bury one another, I would supplicate Allah to make you hear what I hear of the torment of the grave

92- "Indeed, when one of you dies, he is shown his place in the morning and the evening*. If he is among the people of Paradise, he is shown his place in Paradise, and if he is among the people of Hellfire, he is shown his place in Hellfire. It will be said to him: This is your place until Allah resurrects you on the Day of Judgment."

93- Once, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) stood at the top of one of the forts of Madīnah looking down and said: Do you see what I see? Verily, I see the trials that occur in the midst of your houses as plenty as the raindrops that fall (during heavy rain)

94- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My advent and the Hour are like these," and he pointed with his two fingers

95- .

96- By Him in Whose hand is my soul, a time would come upon the people when the killer would not know why he killed and the victim would not know why he was killed

97- I am not responsible for any Muslim who stays among the polytheists

98- I will certainly expel the Jews and the Christians from the Arabian Peninsula until only Muslims are left in it

99- Verily, Allah has ninety-nine names, one-hundred minus one. Whoever memorizes them all will enter Paradise
