1- Shall I inform you of the gravest of the major sins?

2- The major sins are associating partners with Allah, undutifulness to parents, murder, and intentional false oath

3- “Avoid the seven destructive sins

4- I am the One Who is most free from want of partners. So, he who does something for the sake of someone else beside Me, I discard him and his polytheism.'

5- certainly admit him into Paradise, regardless of the deeds which he has done

6- Whoever meets Allah without associating partners with Him will enter Paradise, and whoever meets Him while associating partners with Him will enter Hellfire

7- Whoever gives me a guarantee to safeguard what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I will guarantee him Paradise

8- Paradise is nearer to one of you than his shoelaces, and so is Hellfire

9- Hellfire is surrounded by lusts, and Paradise is surrounded by adversities

10- When two Muslims meet to fight each other with their swords, both the killer and the killed are doomed to Hellfire

11- Verily, the lawful is clear, and the unlawful is clear

12- Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearance and wealth, but He looks at your hearts and deeds.”

13- Verily, the reward of deeds depends on the intentions, and each person will be rewarded according to what he intended

14- Some people dispose of Allah's property wrongfully. For them will be Hellfire on the Day of Judgment

15- All human beings are sinners, and the best of the sinners are the frequent repenters

16- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the foremost deed that leads people to Paradise, and he replied: "Fear of Allah and good character

17- I am not leaving behind a more harmful trial for men than women

18- None of you truly believes until I become dearer to him than his father, his children, and all people

19- Whoever is attached to something will be entrusted to that thing

20- Purity is half of faith, al-hamdulillāh (praise be to Allah) fills the Scale, and subhān Allah wa al-hamdulillāh (glory and praise be to Allah) fills what is between the heavens and the earth

21- tell me something about Islam regarding which I can ask none but you. He (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: I believe in Allah, then remain steadfast

22- When Allah created Paradise and Hellfire, He sent Jibrīl (Gabriel) (peace be upon him)

23- They are being tormented, but they are not tormented for a major sin. One of them would not save himself from being soiled with his urine, while the other used to walk about spreading malicious gossip

24- Life in this world is sweet and green, and indeed, Allah has made you successors there to see how you will behave. So, be cautious of this world and be cautious of women

25- A man asked the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): "When is the Hour?" He said: "What have you prepared for it?

26- Verily, the example of the righteous companion and the evil companion is like that of the carrier of the musk and the blower of the bellows.

27- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would often say: "O Turner of the hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion

28- Whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom, Allah will make him reach the status of martyrs even if he dies on his bed

29- The believer, man or woman, will continue to be tested concerning his or her self, children, and property until they meet Allah without any sins in their record

30- How astonishing the believer's affair is! Indeed, all of his affairs are good, and this is for none but the believer

31- Shall I tell you what I fear more for you than the Antichrist? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Hidden polytheism; when a man gets up to pray and improves his prayer because he sees another man watching him

32- 'A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown into Hellfire, and his intestines will slip out and he will go around by them like a donkey goes around a millstone

33- This is a stone that was thrown into Hellfire seventy years ago and it was falling into Hellfire until it reached its bottom

34- I was with Sa‘īd ibn Jubayr when he said: Who among you saw a shooting star last night? I said: It was I. Then I said: In fact, I was not (busy) in prayer, but I was stung by a scorpion

35- There is no contagion, nor is there any evil omen in birds, nor is there any evil omen in the owl, nor is there any evil omen in Safar, and run away from the leper as you would run away from the lion

36- No soul gets killed wrongfully without the first son of Adam taking guilt for its blood because he was the first to institute the practice of murder

37- I said: O Messenger of Allah, what is salvation? He said: "Control your tongue, abide in your house, and weep over your sin

38- In Paradise, there are one hundred degrees that Allah prepared for those who make Jihad in the cause of Allah. The distance between each two degrees is like the distance between the heaven and earth

39- Were this world worth a wing of a mosquito in the sight of Allah, He would not have given the disbeliever a drink of water thereof

40- Two eyes will not be touched by the Fire: an eye which has wept out of fear of Allah, and an eye which has spent the night guarding in the cause of Allah

41- Every Ummah has a trial, and the trial of my Ummah is wealth

42- All of my Ummah may be forgiven except those who commit sin openly

43- Let none of you die except while having good expectations of Allah

44- If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, it would please me that I should have nothing left of it with me after the passage of three nights, except what I might retain to repay a debt

45- This world in comparison with the Hereafter is like the amount of water one of you gets when he dips his finger in the sea. Let him see what his finger returns with

46- Verily, among the things I fear the most for you after me is the splendor and adornment of this worldly life when they become plentifully available to you

47- Anyone spends a pair in the way of Allah will be called from the gates of Paradise: O slave of Allah, this is good! So, whoever was from the people of prayer will be called from the gate of prayer; whoever was from the people of Jihad will be called from the gate of Jihad

48- The least tortured among the dwellers of Hellfire is a person who has two shoes and two shoelaces made of fire that will cause his brain to boil as a boiling cauldron. He thinks that none is more severely tortured than him, although he is the least tortured among them

49- The dead person is followed by three: His family, his wealth and his deeds. Then two of them come back: His family and his wealth, and there remain only his deeds

50- Be indifferent to worldly life, and Allah will love you; and be indifferent to what people have, and people will love you

51- Righteousness is good morals, and sinfulness is what your heart is not at ease with, and you hate that people know about it

52- Allah is happier with the repentance of His slave than one of you is with finding his riding camel after having lost it in a desert

53- Allah, Blessed and Exalted, accepts the slave's repentance as long as the death rattle has not yet reached his throat

54- Verily, Allah Almighty extends His Hand during the night so the sinner of the day may repent, and He extends His Hand during the day so the sinner of the night may repent until the sun rises from its west

55- Be in this world as if you are a stranger or a wayfarer

56- Do not envy one another, do not raise prices by overbidding against one another, do not hate one another, do not turn your backs on each other, and do not undercut one another in trade; but be, O slaves of Allah, as brothers

57- Whoever repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will accept his repentance

58- Shall I not inform of whom Hellfire is forbidden for? Or he is forbidden for Hellfire? It is forbidden for someone who is accessible, lenient, tender, and easy to get along with

59- The one who is afraid (of the pillage of the enemy) sets out in the early part of the night, and the one who sets out early will reach his destination. Verily, the commodity of Allah is precious. Verily, the commodity of Allah is Paradise

60- Among them are those whom the fire will reach up to their ankles, others up to their knees, others up to their waists, and others up to their collarbones

61- O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I shall forgive you

62- Hellfire will be brought on that Day with seventy thousand bridles; and with each bridle, there will be seventy thousand angels pulling it

63- The strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than the weak believer, and there is good in both

64- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the foremost deed that leads people to Paradise, and he replied: Fear of Allah and good character. Then, he was asked about the most things that lead people into Hellfire, and he said: The tongue and the private parts

65- Shall I tell you what ‘ada is? It is calumny which is committed among the people

66- Wretched is the slave of the dinar! Wretched is the slave of the dirham! Wretched is the slave of Khamīsah! Wretched is the slave of velvet! If given, he is pleased, but if not, he is displeased. May he be wretched and may he relapse, and if he is pierced with a thorn, may he not find anyone to take it out for him

67- Three will not enter Paradise: the habitual drinker of alcohol, the one who severs the ties of kinship, and the one who believes in sorcery‎

68- Soon there will come a time when the best property of a Muslim will be sheep that he will take to the mountaintops

69- The Sirāt will be placed over the center of Hell, covered with thorns similar to the thorns of the Sa‘dān. Then, people will pass over it; some will be safe without any harm, some will be safe after receiving some scratches, and some will fall down into Hell

70- A caller will call out: You will be healthy and never fall ill; you will live and never die; you will be young and never grow old; you will live in comfort and never suffer

71- Allah Almighty will say to the dwellers of Paradise: 'O people of Paradise!' They will reply: 'O our Lord, we present ourselves and are at Your pleasure.' He will say: ‘Are you contented?’ They will say: 'How could we not be contented, O Lord, when You have given us what You have not given to any of Your creation?'

72- When the dwellers of Paradise enter Paradise, he said: Allah Almighty will say: Do you want Me to give you anything more?

73- The dwellers of Paradise will look at the dwellers of the lofty chambers above them in the same way that you look at a shining star far away on the horizon, in the East or in the West, due to their superiority over one another

74- A place in Paradise as small as a bow is better than all that upon which the sun rises and sets

75- The son of Adam has been destined his share of fornication, which he will inevitably acquire. The eyes fornicate by looking, the ears fornicate by listening, the tongue fornicates by speaking, the hand fornicates by hitting, the foot fornicates by stepping. The heart loves and wishes. The genitals prove or disapprove that

76- There are two types of the dwellers of Hellfire whom I have not seen: people with whips like the tails of cows with which they beat people, and women who will be dressed yet naked, inviting to evil, and they themselves are inclined to it

77- The bell is the musical instrument of the Satan

78- O womenfolk, give charity, for indeed, I was shown that you form the majority of the dwellers of Hellfire." They said: Why is that, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "You curse frequently, and you are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone deficient in intellect and religion more able to lead and subdue the mind of a stern man than one of you

79- I know the last of the inhabitants of Hell to come out of it, and the last of the inhabitants of Paradise to enter it. He is a man who will emerge from Hellfire crawling, and Allah, the Almighty, will say to him: Go and enter Paradise. When he arrives, it will appear to him that it is full. He will say: O Lord, I have found it full

80- Do you find any difficulty in seeing the sun at noon when there are no clouds? They said: No. He again said: Do you find any difficulty in seeing the moon during the fourteenth night when there are no clouds?

81- You will eagerly seek out a position of authority, but it will be a source of regret on the Day of Judgment. How excellent is the wet nurse, and how evil is the weaning one

82- The Hour will not be established until a man would pass by the grave of another man and say: 'I wish I were in his place.'

83- Death will be brought forward in the shape of a black and white ram

84- Your fire is a one-seventieth part of Hellfire

85- Do not seek knowledge in order to show off in front of the scholars, or to argue with the foolish;

86- Allah has given a parable: a straight path

87- If you see those who follow the ambiguous verses, they are those whom Allah has named; so, beware of them

88- There is no man who commits a sin, then gets up and performs Tahārah (ritual purification), then performs prayer, then seeks forgiveness from Allah, except that Allah forgives him

89- The extent to which they betrayed you, disobeyed you, and lied to you will be measured against how much you punish them

90- {Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about your worldly pleasures.}

91- “There are four (traits); whoever has them is a sheer hypocrite, and whoever has one trait of them has one of the traits of hypocrisy until he gives it up: whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous; whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; and whenever he is in a dispute, he behaves in a shameless immoral manner

92- My servant hastened to bring about his demise; I have forbidden Paradise to him.

93- A man will go to sleep and honesty will be taken out of his heart and only a trace of it will remain, like the trace of a dark spot. And a man will go to sleep again and the honesty will decrease further still, so its trace will resemble that of a blister.

94- I love you for Allah's sake. He said: May the One you love me for His sake love you

95- It is out of glorification of Allah, Almighty, to honor the grey-haired (old) Muslim, and the bearer of the Qur'an who neither exaggerates concerning it nor neglects it, and to honor the just ruler.

96- He does not belong to us who does not show mercy to our young and honor our old

97- I am a messenger from Allah to you to tell you that Allah loves you as you love him for His sake

98- The needy is not the one who can be turned away with a date-fruit or two, or a morsel or two. But, the needy is the one who abstains from begging

99- I looked into Paradise and found that the majority of its people are the poor, and I looked into the Fire and found that the majority of its people are women

100- Paradise and Hell debated. Hell said: The tyrants and the proud are in me. Paradise said: The weak and the poor are in me

101- You indulge in such actions that are less significant in your eyes than a hair, while we used to consider them destructive sins during the Prophet’s lifetime

102- If Allah willed to do good to His slave, He expedites his punishment in the life of this world, and if He willed to do ill to His slave, He withholds the punishment for his sins until He comes with all his sins on the Day of Resurrection

103- Are you being granted victory and sustenance except by your weak ones?

104- Allah, the Almighty, said: Those who love one another for the sake of My glory will have pulpits of light for which the prophets and martyrs will envy them

105- O Messenger of Allah, what if a man comes to me wanting to take my money? He said: Then do not give him your money

106- This world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever

107- I have seen seventy of the people of the Suffah, none of them had a cloak over them

108- A man kissed a woman (unlawfully), so he came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and told him of what he did. So Allah, the Almighty, revealed the verse: {And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds.} [Sūrat Hūd: 114]

109- A man came to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I committed a sin liable to a legal punishment, so inflict it upon me

110- We were given of this world what we were given. I am afraid that the reward of our good deeds has been hastened to us in this world

111- O Hakīm, this money is like a sweet fresh fruit; whoever takes it without greediness, he is blessed in it, and whoever takes it with greediness, he is not blessed in it, and he is like a person who eats but is never satisfied; and the giving hand is better than the receiving hand

112- I stood at the gate of Paradise and saw that most of those who entered it were the poor and destitute. The people of means were held back

113- I believe you heard that Abu ‘Ubaydah has returned from Bahrain with something

114- By Allah! There is no true life, except that of the Hereafter

115- Verily, this world is cursed, and everything in it is cursed, except the remembrance of Allah an all what is relevant to it; a scholar and a seeker of knowledge

116- This one is better than an earthful of the other

117- If the believer were to know what is with Allah of punishment, no one would hope to enter Paradise, and if the non-believer were to know what is with Allah of mercy, no one would despair of entering Paradise

118- By Allah, the world is less worthy to Allah than this is to you

119- Who can guarantee for me that he will never ask people for something, and I will guarantee for him Paradise

120- Whoever is pleased with Allah as their Lord, with Islam as their religion, and with Muhammad as their Messenger, Paradise is guaranteed for him

121- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) passed by us while we were repairing a hut that we owned

122- During my ascent to heaven, I passed by a group of people with copper nails scratching their faces and chests. I asked: O Jibrīl, who are these? He replied: These are the ones who eat the flesh of people (by backbiting) and slander them

123- I saw how the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) would pass a whole day writhing (from hunger), not even finding bad dates to fill his stomach with

124- Encouraging towards the eternal bliss of Paradise and warning of the severe torment of Hellfire

125- In Madīnah, there are people who are with you whenever you cover a distance or cross a valley. They have been detained by illness

126- The son of Adam does not fill any vessel worse than his stomach. It is enough for the son of Adam to eat a few mouthfuls to straighten his back, but if he must (fill his stomach), then one third for his food, one third for his drink, and one third for his breath

127- Paradise and Hell were presented to me, and I have never seen good and evil like what I saw today. If you knew what I know, you will rarely laugh and you will cry abundantly

128- Allah, Glorified and Exalted, wonders at those people who will enter Paradise in chains

129- If the son of Adam were to own a valley of gold, he would desire to have two valleys. Nothing can fill his mouth except dust, and Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents

130- There were among the nations before you people who were inspired. If there is any of such among my followers, then it is ‘Umar

131- Look at those who are below you, and do not look at those who are above you, for that is more likely to hold you back from belittling the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon you

132- Verily, Allah, the Exalted, revealed to me that you must be humble, so that no one oppresses another or boasts of oneself before another

133- What is left of it (the sheep)? She replied: Nothing is left except its shoulder. He said: All of it is left except its shoulder

134- Successful is the one who enters Islam and is provided with mere subsistence and Allah makes him content with what He has given him

135- Whoever among you wakes up in the morning secure in his dwelling, healthy in his body, and he has his food for the day, then it is as if the whole world has been given to him

136- There are three (types of people) to whom Allah will not speak (on the Day of Judgment), nor will He purify, and they will incur a painful punishment: an aged person who commits adultery, a poor person who is arrogant, and a man who has made (swearing by) Allah as his goods; as he does not buy or sell without swearing by Allah

137- Abu Bakr As-Siddīq (may Allah be pleased with him) had a slave who used to give him a portion of his daily income as the master's share. Abu Bakr used to eat the food bought with that share

138- Al-‘Adbā', the Prophet's she-camel, was never outrun

139- When Allah wants to punish a people, the punishment befalls whoever is among them, then they will be resurrected according to their deeds

140- Do not crave for property lest you should become consumed with desire for worldly life

141- This (line) represents man, and this (line) represents the end of his life, and while he is as such, the closest line overtakes him

142- Oxus, Jaxartes, Euphrates, and the Nile are all from the rivers of Paradise

143- Paradise and Hell argued with one another. Hell said: I have been assigned the arrogant and the tyrants. Paradise said: Why is it that only the weak, the insignificant, and the simple enter me?

144- Two gardens, the utensils and the contents of which are of silver; two other gardens, the utensils and the contents of which are of gold. Nothing will prevent people from looking at their Lord except the veil of pride over His Face in the Garden of Eden

145- Verily, the lowest place of any of you in Paradise will be that Allah will tell him to express his wish. He will wish and wish again. Allah will then ask him: Have you expressed your wish? He will answer: Yes, I have. Allah will say: You will have what you have wished for and the like thereof along with it

146- In Paradise there is a tree that the rider of a lean swift horse cannot cover (its distance) in one hundred years

147- Verily, in Paradise there is a market to which people will come every Friday

148- The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) went out and supplicated for the martyrs of the battle of Uhud eight years after (their death), as if he was bidding farewell to the living and the dead

149- Any Muslim who loses (to death) three children before reaching puberty will be admitted by Allah into Paradise because of his being merciful to them

150- The first to be judged on the Day of Judgment is a man who was martyred. He will be brought and Allah will remind him of His favor [upon him], which he will recognize. Allah will say: What did you do as a token of gratitude for that favor? He will say: I fought for Your sake until I was martyred

151- I asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) about the sudden glance, and he commanded me to avert my gaze

152- Allah, the Almighty, said: "I have prepared for My righteous slaves what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and no human heart has ever conceived," and recite if you wish: {And no soul knows what delight awaits them as the reward for their deeds}

153- Verily, what I fear for you is a man who recites the Qur’an until its brightness appears on him and he becomes a support of Islam. (This continues) until this man changes his state to what Allah wills. He detaches himself from it and throws it behind his back. Then he starts attacking his neighbor with the sword, accusing him of polytheism

154- Verily, the grave is the first stage of the stages of the Hereafter. If one is saved from it, what comes after it is easier than it is. And if one is not saved from it, then what comes after it is harder than it is

155- A woman was tormented because of a cat which she had kept locked up until it died, and she was thrown into Hell for that. She neither gave it food or drink when she locked it up nor freed it so that it would eat from the vermin of the earth

156- The most rebellious of people against Allah, Exalted and Glorified, is someone who kills another in the sacred precincts of Allah

157- Avoid these filthy practices which Allah has prohibited. The one who commits any of these deeds should conceal himself with Allah's veil (he should not speak about them) and repent to Allah, for if anyone exposes his hidden sins (to us), we shall inflict the punishment prescribed by Allah, the Almighty, on him

158- May Allah curse the thief who steals an egg and his hand is cut off for that, and he steals a rope and his hand is cut off for that

159- Allah, the Almighty, said: My love is certainly due to those who love one another for My sake, sit with one another for My sake, visit one another for My sake, cooperate and give one another for My sake

160- By Allah! I do give a man and I leave another, and the one that I leave is more beloved to me than the one that I give

161- Among those who lived before you, there was a man who had killed ninety-nine people. He asked about the most knowledgeable person on earth and was guided to a monk. When he went to him, he informed him that he had killed ninety-nine people and asked if his repentance could be accepted. The monk replied in the negative, so the man killed him

162- I did not miss any battle with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) except the battle of Tabūk. In fact, I did not take part in the battle of Badr, but none who failed to take part in it was blamed

163- People are precious metals, like the metals gold and silver. The best of them in the pre-Islamic period are the best of them in Islam, if they understand. Souls are conscripted soldiers, whichever of them come together, they unite and whichever of them disregard each other, they diverge

164- On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will deliver to every Muslim a Jew or a Christian and say: This is your ransom from Hellfire

165- Any wealth that I have conferred upon my slave is lawful for him. And I have created all My slaves with a natural predisposition to worship Allah alone, but the devils came to them and turned them away from their religion

166- I fear two things for my Ummah: the Qur’an and milk. As for milk, they seek the countryside, follow desires, and neglect the prayers. As for the Qur’an, the hypocrites learn it to argue with the believers by means of it

167- The bliss and torment of the grave in the Hadīth of Al-Barā' ibn ‘Āzib

168- Whoever Allah saves from the evil of what is between his jaws and the evil of what is between his legs will enter Paradise

169- Paradise and Hellfire argued with each other (each claiming to be better than the other). Paradise said: The weak and poor will enter me. Hellfire said: The tyrants and arrogant will enter me. He said to Hellfire: You are My punishment with which I will exact revenge upon whomever I wish. Then He said to Paradise: You are My mercy with which I will show mercy to whomever I wish

170- By the One in Whose hand Muhammad's soul is! I hope that you would be one-half of the inhabitants of Paradise; for none shall enter Paradise except a Muslim soul, and you, compared to the polytheists, are no more than a white hair on the skin of a black ox

171- The dwellers of Paradise will see the upper abodes of Paradise as you see the stars in the sky

172- There are two blessings in which many people incur loss: health and free time

173- Verily, the believer in Paradise will have a tent made of a single hollow pearl, the length of which is sixty miles. The believer will have wives therein whom he will visit in turn, and they will not see each other
